Best: Reese Witherspoon, "InStyle," December 2009

Though the news of her split from Jake Gyllenhaal left us feeling quite sad, one look back at this cover instantly cheers us up. It's festive (appropriate for a December issue) and it makes us want to run out and buy the exact same outfit, paint our nails crimson and sport it all for our New Year's Eve party. But the best part about this cover? Witherspoon's gorgeous smile -- it's authentic and contagious.

I'm kind of surprised by some of the ones that are the "best"... there were quite a few photos that just weren't that interesting. SJP's was great though! And I actually liked Posh's. It's ridiculous and she looks plastic. But it's FASHION, dahhhling!

I can't believe you left the Amy Adams Allure cover off of your your worst list. She had the most awful, unflattering makeup on. It made her look like a zombie rather than her usual gorgeous self.

Thank you for praising Kristen Stewart and her freckles. Rarely do you find any articles celebrating freckles; most are "how to cover up those freckles". I have freckles (and yes, they are a form of skin damage) but if I go out in the sun, even for a few minutes, I have a new freckle....and this is with wearing spf 50 moisturizer. Some of us are just meant to have freckles.
