How to conceal redness around the nose

You need: cream concealer + latex sponge+ loose powder

How to apply: Since the area around your nose gets oily quickly, Dedivanovic recommends using an oil-free cream concealer, which "will provide heavier coverage. As you get oily during the day, concealer darkens so you want to use a concealer that has a dry consistency," he says. We recommend Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, $23.

Use your ring finger to pat and blend the concealer into the crease around the nose. Then take your damp makeup sponge, dip in loose powder, and blend. Try Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Airbrushing Loose Powder SPF 30, $13.95 Dedivanovic says this is important, because "a lot of times the foundation and concealer are two different products with different finishes, so you have to blend the two together."

I absolutely loved the idea of running a sponge under water, squeezing the water out, dipping into loose powder, then dabbing over the area to set the concealer. I am totally going to try this out.

Does anyone know where to get the velour puff brush Mario mentions in the article. I can find velour puffs but not a brush. He says to use it with your loose powder instead of a raw material brush. Cant find a velour puff brush and need help

A plethora of excellent information--thank you! One thing I would add is two concealers made for delicate and/or aging skin--YSL's "Touch Eclat Radiant Touch Concealer" ($40.00) and Diorskin's "Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer" ($30). YSL includes a brush applicator; with Dior's version, you work with a concealer brush of your own or your fingertips. In either case, the formulas are extremely lightweight, glide on seamlessly, and do not adhere to creases. They can be used in the tiny hollows at the insides of eyes for a "wide awake" look.

I liked this article. I struggle constantly with bags/puffiness in my under eye area. I have always been told to HYDRATE and the puffiness will go away. However, unfortunately for me, the puffiness and "bags" under my eyes are hereditary and no amount of liquid is going to change that for me. I've used many types of concealers and watched hundreds of video tutorials about concealing the under eye area, but I have not experienced any luck. I appreciate the diversity in concealers mentioned in your article. I've used elf products, but never considered mixing it with a highlighter - I found this very helpful. So while I've been trying to conceal my bags with yellow tinted concealer and just regular spot concealer, I am anxious to give the technique in your article a try. I am cautiously optomistic that I will see results.

Good tips and techniques. I have a small facial birthmark I won't ever cover up b/c its unique to me, but I do use a concealer like dermablend which has more pigment in it to even out the sun spots on my forehead and under my eyes.

Some good tips. Remember that concealing blemishes with some products actually contributes to & "feeds" them, which can worsen results, & allow breakouts to last longer.

This did give me a better step by step for what people do. The green concealer is one of the few things that did help my sensitive, red, dry skin during the winter. Had a more expensive brand with a stick applicator and it irritated my skin and did not cover anything.
