Winter white Winter white doesn't work on everyone, but sheer, shimmery nudes do. Try pearly highlighters, a dewy foundation, and nude shimmer powders. The finish will give you a wintery effect without looking chalky and washed out. Be sure to avoid a frosty lip gloss, which will make you look seriously dated.

I agree with everyone else, showing us pictures of the final look on someone would have been better, but they are still nice ideas. Just be careful about bright colors on more then one area on your face. Like the red lips and blue eyeliner may be tricky to pull off without looking like a clown. I suggest sticking with one focal point (red lips, smokey eyes, etc) then let the rest be neutral colors.

I loved all of those blue and silver colors. I think gold is also a great holiday color because it doesn't look too weird if you wear it at other times of year.

this is a great article and the tips for how to combine colors are gexcellent...I someimes forget my nails are also a "cosmetic" area and glitter there is perfect. I am definitely trying a few of these looks, if not all of them.
