Red Carpet-Worthy Hair and Makeup in 10 Minutes or Less
The celebrity hairstyles and makeup looks you loved from the Emmy Awards minus the hours of prep time
Hairstyle: January JonesCelebrity editorial stylist Mark Townsend created this look for "Mad Men" star Jones. Townsend says this look is all about "second-day texture" (time bonus). To create the look, wash your hair the night before, apply a curl enhancing mousse like Dove Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse, $2.99 and blow dry hair with a large round brush to create lift.
Next, spritz hair with a heat protecting spray, then grab a one-inch curling iron and wrap one-and-a-half to two-inch sections of hair around the barrel of the iron, rotating the direction of the curl with each new section. This will "create a big, loose wave instead of a tight curl," says Townsend. Sleep and then the next day, when you're ready to wear the style, reapply a bit of the mousse to dry hair and blow dry it gently with a round brush to freshen up the ends. Rake a small amount of shine-enhancing taming cream like Nexxus Sleek Finish Frizz Taming Silkening Lotion, $10.99 to add smoothness and shine.
Finish by misting hair with a flexible hold hairspray and scrunching your ends a bit.
