Me? A masochist? This is the crazy part of the whole Bootcamp experience -- while I dread going each time, I can't not go. I go on the weekdays, on the weekends. I go when I'm tired, and when I'm dealing with serious PMS.
I used to scoff at the idea of exercise addiction, but after speaking with Pamela Peeke, MD, spokesperson for the National chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine, and author of "Body for Life for Women," I find out that you actually can get physiologically hooked on exercise. "When you work out regularly, you're actually changing your genetic expression," she tells me. "That's how potent and powerful exercise is."
So, maybe the workout fiends in this city aren't so weird after all. And I have to admit, I'm psyched my newfound exercise habit is one that I can take pride in -- unlike my Diet Coke addiction. In fact, I can't take pride in much of my nutrition plan. If I don't work just as hard on my diet as my workout, am I just chasing my tail?
This was nice to see that you arent going to get those results that quickly plus Im sure Kim does a lot more then just his bootcamp. When you have money like she does you can afford a lot more.
would like to try something like this - right now I am tying to run in the mornings and ride bike in the afternoons and work in floor excercise and weights
Kim Kardashian is not an example of beauty. She has a HUGE derriere, which is very unattractive. I cannot stand her and all of the publicity she gets. I am disappointed with TB that you would have an article about her.
2lbs and a couple of inches for 30 days of that?! That's a bad trade. No mention of pulse rate, plus injury, makes it seem like the guy couldn't care less about anyone's health.
great article! And I think u look FAB jus the way u are :) at the end of the day, as long as you are healthy u will glow & that is real beauty right there! Kudos!
Different body types and metabolisms need different workouts. She may not have been happy with the results b/c she lost only 2 pounds, but she can consider herself more in shape. it's not about the pounds as it is about being active.
I love this article and I feel plenty identified with it! I had almost the same experience exercising, I've done exercise for like a month or so and I've only seen four pounds down out of 20 I want to loose :-(
After so much research I have found that the only way to loose weight quickly and get lean results is to eat 1200 calories a day (but no any food! lean protein and vegetables only!!) and intense exercise for at least 1/2 hour, 5 times a week... yes! that's it.. exercise a lot, and be a friend of hunger... no pain=no gain...
This is a very good article. That's really nice of you to share your experience and don't worry about not looking like Kim, she's not really that pretty, and her beauty is artificial, listen to what the other girls below on what they have to say. :)
I happen to think, based on your posted picture, that you're a beautiful woman. Kim K. has store-bought beauty and she has a HUGE rear end! I commend you for wanting to build up your endurance and trim down, but please don't look like one of the "death-camp survivors" that we see coming out of Hollywood. You'll find that you feel better, and us guys appreciate a beautiful, natural woman!
Due to genetics, there's no amount of exercise that can mimic Kim's body, esp if you have a flat butt and chest. Plastic surgery gives "Kim" results. Unless of course you had a humongous rear and giant rack to start with; then maybe exercise is your best bet. articles like this I feel are misleading to women who have low self esteem. How can we learn to accept ourselves if you're constantly chasing unrealistic ideals such as looking like Kim when in fact you are NOT Kim.
This was a really good article. Exercising is just about being diligent and consistent. And it goes for heallthy eating too. Although keeping a journal about what you eat is hard, ive tried and i have failed at this.
Kim Kardashian really doesnt have a great body. Pictures are manipulated. Exercise is a lifestyle change. I love it. I am in my 40's and will boast. I look better than she does. And I work hard in doing so. I love to exercise, eat clean and take care of my skin.
