Five-strand braid After hours of practice on all the girls at summer camp, I can do a French braid in my sleep. If you're the same way and you're looking for a new challenge, try this five-section braid. (Don't know how to French braid? Totally understandable. Check out this easy video tutorial for the best tips.) As a beauty bonus for my thin-haired ladies, the basket-weave makes even the limpest hair look thick and gorgeous. Check out Luxy Hair's video tutorial to see how to do it on your own.
Bonus tip: Since there are five instead of three sections of hair to keep track of, repeat the steps "over" and "under" to yourself as you braid. Remember, there should always be a section of hair in the middle and two sections of hair on either side.
This is soooooo great! I tried french braiding my hair before & complete failure...my hair is super thick, greasy, and straight but I will definitely give these tutorials a try!
The "half dutch braid" is called a "lace braid". Also, for a DUTCH braid, you ARE bringing the pieces UNDER the center strand not over. You bring them OVER for a french braid.
It was fun to see all these braids in one article. I've always loved braiding since I was a kid & have always believed they're for every age, despite some people's opinions. I have been loving all the new videos sharing tips. I especially love CuteGirlsHairstyles and was so glad they got to be in this article. :)
I love braiding my hair and I am always looking for some new way to do it! I actually favorited almost all of these videos on my youtube account! Thank you.
I cant believe the simplicity of the fishtail braid, I always look at anything different from the standard braid and believe it too be too difficult, who knew!
I love this article as it makes braiding seem like just about anyone can do at least some of them!I have never had much ability to do any styling so would often sticl with pin straaight bobs in various lengths etc. I dont need to use any implements at all for the most part wash n go. Recently I have let my hair grow and am considering judt having it trimmed and trying some thins with the length, your article came just at a time when I was thinking of returning to shorter style, so perfect timing. I may see about extensions to get a bit more length and my hair is fine as well, I hope they are available at a reasonable cost I hear people spend $ on them so wil check. Great selection of videos with so many out thre you have done the work of previewin. Thanks!!!!!!!!!
i love these! i wish i had long enough hair for some of them. i guess my friends with long hair are going to get really awesome braids done for them =)
Love all these looks!! I have been rocking the fishtail for awhile now but I really want to try the reverse french braid. I have a feeling I will be wearing alot of braids this spring.
