Why: One reader gives a disclaimer: "Use Only If Attending Clown College!" Another reader says, "I read about this product in at least five magazines with awesome reviews of it before I bought it. It is pretty expensive. So I took it home and tried it. My entire bathroom was covered in brown spray paint. I spent forever cleaning up the mess. And it made my hair stiff and didn't remove the oil as promised." Readers agree saying, "the $4 stuff I got at the drugstore works well enough for me to get another day out of a blow out, but this stuff was a nightmare! Most irritating was that the color got everywhere; all over my hands, brush, towel, etc. Plus, every time I touched my hair, my hands turned red!" Ick. Another reader calls this product a "complete waste of time and total disappointment from a generally fantastic company. Bumble and bumble needs to throw this out and go back to the drawing board to start over and get it right on the next try!"

Agree: Ojon is great...used to the love the Oscar Blandi until they came out with the invisible spray, now that's my fave. I also agree with bumble and bumble being pricy but TERRIBLE...it's like a thick, sticky hairspray that you can't even brush out. The only part I dont agree on: Tresemme...this has left an awful terrible white residue that has never absorbed any oil. Dont know how that got number one.

Why isn't Suave Dry Shampoo on the list? It works fine for me. Although I think I'll try a new one out of curiosity now. I've been using the Suave one for 2 years & like it fine.

Cake Beauty Satin Sugar is my holy grail for dry shampoos. It smells INCREDIBLE, like baked sugar, makes my hair fluffy and full of body (I have straight fine hair) and it's tinted so you don't look like Cruella De Ville.

I have been using Catwalk by TIGI because the sales clerk at Beauty Brands said it was good. It's ok, but is $20. I am going to give the last two that was suggested a try and see if I like it. Because I go to the gym at least 3 times a week and I don't wash my hair everyday, I need something that will refresh my hair so it won't smell like sweat. So hopefully one of the last two metioned will work, otherwise I will have to continue to shell out $20 every other week.

I love the Sauve one that comes in the gold bottle. The original one is good too, but the other one smells so good, and gives my hair tons of body. I hate the Tresemme one...it makes my hair sticky and tangled.

I think it's better to just wash your hair and that's that. Using a good shampoo and conditioner can do wonders for your hair. I wash my hair with pro naturals moroccan argan oil shampoo and conditioner about 3 times a week and my hair is perfectly fine.

I don't think dry shampoos are that good. I do use the tresemme one on my daughter and it's fine for her but not for me. To me it's just not the same as washing your hair.

i have the tresemme one and its kind of sad that it doesnt work as well as i thought but its not as bad as reviews said. it makes hair LOOK alot better but it does make hair FEEL thick and a bit heavy

Me too it's been awesome. Thank you for a much needed article. I'm going to be taking this advise seriously as I am one very disatisfied dry shampoo user thus far however desperately need a good one as I really can't wash my hair everyday, it's just not that do-able when you're a mum of 2 and work full time! Ok my pecking order to try 1. Spilt Milk 2. Oscar Blandi and if all else fails, shave my head. Please leave more posts about your fav's I need some serious help here!

Loved reading this summary of dry shampoos. It seems like we are all looking for the perfect dry shampoo, yet it is a product that can easily be a flop. So far my personal favorite after trying soooo many is the Big Sexy Hair dry shampoo. I am excited to try the top two from this article as they are the only ones mentioned that I have yet to try!

TIGI is pretty average. I use the Spilt Milk one also, and agree it's the best. It's also the nicest feel in the hair and gives great coverage to roots.

Have you ever tried just a little powder or corn starch. That is what I used as a teenager it works very well and so cheap.

Just read your best and worst and I agree bumble and bumble is revolting!! One you didn't mention that I am in love with is Spilt Milk's Mineral Hair Powder. Have you heard of it? I hadn't either until recently and After years of searching and trialling them all I have finally found the one I'm sticking to! I think that the Spilt Milk Mineral Hair Powder certainly needs a mention. I truly believe the best on salon shelves hands down. I bought it a few months back from my local hairdressing salon and couldn't be happier. Thank you for doing such a much needing posting, love your unbiased honesty!!! Xxxx

Suave makes a really great one. It's cheap, mess free, and smells great! I liked it way better than the number three oscar blandi which I thought was messy.

I love Pssst dry shampoo. It's about $5 at Walmart so even if you think it's a bust, it's only a small loss. It comes in an aersol can near the hairspray.
