I wish there was a mascara that didn't smudge all under the eyes. I have short fine lashes, and can't find anything that doesn't make me look like a panda after a short while.

I was surprised not to see Benefit's "They're Real!" on this list. It is truly amazing! It's not waterproof, but it will truly make your lashes look better than fake ones.

Fantastic!! I actually just bought the Clinique Waterproof that is the first one listed and so far I really like it. It definitely needs to be layered to get a really full look, but I like the brush design and it does not clump. I maybe try one or two of the others because I am on the search for a REALLY solid waterproof mascara for my upcoming wedding (and the weather--after I walked to the office during a snowstorm and discovered an hour into the day that I had mascara all over my face).

Clinique mascara is very clumpy and their brush is not the best but if you immediately dry brush after applying, it works pretty well.

I always love it when they mention both low cost and higher end products. Not everyone canafford a tube of mascara that costs 30 dollars every 3 months. I personally feel anything highend cane be found in a different brand for half the price at most drugstores.

I love mascara. I have far more than I need even for just myself. My ex is always barrowing some. Been wanting to try the hypnose Star from Lancolme just not sure on the price. Now I will toss it down as it seems awesome. Might even try the Rimmel one as I have never tried anything from them

Loved the under $10 ones. No matter how much I pay,. after a mo. all mascaras lose their intial power. Now I'll just pay less and get new mascara every month.

When I read about "buildability", and putting on 4-5 coats, I had to laugh. That much mascara, no matter what brand, will pull the curl right out of my skimpy/fine lashes, and cause funky-looking crooked tips. I'm a mascara junkie, but have yet to find my "holy grail" product.

I have always loved the Cover Girl with the curved brush. I always like the brown or Black/brown. Plain black mascara is just too harsh unless you have a darker complexion.

the comment about maybelline not leaving residue on your eyelid was helpful but otherwise i'm not inclined to stray from my tried & true maybelline waterproof lash discovery - the only brand i've found so far that will lock curl in after using a curler on my stick straight lashes...

This was an acceptable mascara but nothing special. I prefer Benefit's "They're Real!" or Lancome's "Definicils."

I was surprised not to see the new Covergirl Clumpcrusher in the list. Its affordable and really does work in terms of buildable without clumping. In spite of the awful name and horrid neon greem tube, it works for me and is a lot cheaper than Dior. I find many mascaras work well for a few weeks and then they just dont perform as well whether it be drying out, flaking or just plain poor performance. This happens even if you are careful to close lid and it doesnt seem to mater if it cost 6 or 35 its often that way. When I think of 15 years ago it seems that a new mascara didnt perform the best until after a week or so and then was usually good for a couple of months. Lucky to get that from a tube of any type now esp if you want flawlwss and no flaking. I am constatnly buying and throwing away mascara!! Once it has been opened even once it wont last so if you have a fair number its best to not even openn until you want to use, tempting though that may be. Anyone else find these issues? Do you think it is done so relacaemen will be done more often $$$

I like Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof. It dosn't budge, it's dries quickly, and was not hard to remove, unlike other waterproof mascaras.

I like the way the less inexpensive types were mixed in to the bunch, and I don't have any waterproof. The style of now, with the fake Kardashian lashes is not attractive to me. I have that one listed and don't like it.

Good suggestions! Even if make-up is not your thing...a girl should always have a great mascara, lipgloss and concealer. I swear those 3 products alone can make all the difference!

love all the suggestions, especially as many of these products are brand new. Word of warning on the NYC Big Curl mascara- the brush is HUGE and that makes it extremely hard to get the product into your lashline and also to grab any small, fine lashes in the corners.

oooh. lots of surprises here. Clinique's mascara is nice, but not for some outstanding lashes... And I'm shocked not to see any L'Oreal's mascaras here. Come on, Voluminous and many variations of it are FANTASTIC!
