Use a wide barrette on a ponytail
"The barrette is the new fall hair accessory," says Dizon. And it's an easy way to punch up your basic go-to ponytail. Dizon says to tease your pony at the crown to give it more volume. "If the style is too clean and sleek, it'll look young, but if it's more tousled, it'll look more Brigitte Bardot-glamorous," she says. After teasing the hair at your crown, pull out a few pieces around your face (or let your bangs fall, if you have them). Then clip your hair in place with a rectangular gold barrette (like the one shown here).
