10 New Ways to Wear a Bun
It's glamorous, yet simple; classic, but not stuffy. The bun is a timeless hairstyle -- here's how to give it a modern twist
Miley Cyrus' messy bun
Best for: Curly or wavy hair is ideal, says Schlenger.
Schlenger's how-to: Start by backcombing the crown area. Secure a ponytail at the center back of the head, leaving out the front hairline. Ball up the tail bringing it towards the base. Set the bun with pins, letting loose ends fall out. Any long pieces can be wrapped around the bun and secured with pins. Loosely brush the curly hairline back with your fingers leaving height and volume. Spray with hairspray to hold and secure longer hair with French pins.

Good ideas in this article, thanks! Miley Cyrus' bun looked just beautiful, while SJP's looked awful. Fact about buns...you absolutely have to have striking/beautiful bone structure to pull it off, as so much of your face is on show. SJP isn't an attractive woman, so point proved...
