Women, we are mysterious, wondrous creatures, aren't we? And a good part of what makes us so charming to men (or so we think), are all the little things we hide from them. Like our complex and involved beauty routines. Men have
no idea what goes into looking this good. And we wouldn't want them to, either.

According to a new survey of 2,000 British women, the average woman has around eight major beauty secrets she keeps from her partner -- things she'd be absolutely mortified to reveal to her significant other. What were some of the top offenses to make the list? As you might imagine, most of the secretive behavior involved unwanted hair. Women were loathe to reveal to their partners that they plucked or shaved hair from their toes, faces, or from strange areas of their bodies, or that they waxed hairs on their faces. They also didn't want their boyfriends or husbands to know that they removed skin from their feet, that they wore body slimming undergarments, or that they plucked their eyebrows.

Most of the women surveyed -- two-thirds -- said they believed their partners were largely unaware of all the grooming that goes into looking good. A third of women polled said their partners would be completely turned off if they ever knew what went into their beauty routines, and a full fifth said that no matter how long they were with their partner, they vowed they'd never ever come clean about their beauty routine (we're betting these are the same women who never let their significant others see them without makeup, either).
