• Is male menopause a real thing? The jury's out. Some researchers say that male menopause, which is commonly termed "andropause," occurs in many men, and is characterized by a reduced sex drive, erectile dysfunction, weight gain, depression and general fatigue. It's caused by a decrease in testosterone as guys age, and while there's no standardized treatment for it yet (other than increased doses of testosterone), doctors generally treat it on a symptom-by-symptom basis.
