• Several fast food chains have vowed to improve transparency in labeling, remove artificial additives and add healthier menu items, but health experts say that it won't make a difference because most consumers will still go for the worst thing on the menu anyway. "Even when given that extra guidance, consumers (on average) didn't choose a lower calorie meal," said Carnegie Mellon researcher Julie Downs, who's studied consumer's eating habits at fast food restaurants. OWN network host Lisa Ling was doing a show on ADHD when she began noticing how many of the disorder's symptoms related to her own life.
