"The Simple Life" days are far behind us, and the latest Nicole Richie hair looks prove that the fashionista has grown up. Since getting her start alongside Paris Hilton, this mom, TV star, designer and entrepreneur has done it all, including giving us some serious hair envy! The Early Days
When we were first introduced to her on "The Simple Life", Nicole Richie wore fairly obvious extensions in not just her typical blonde color but also black and red. Later, she mixed it up with bright yellow and pastel pink extensions as well. One thing's for sure: Richie's always been one to follow the beat of her own drum.

Toning It Down
After getting rid of the extensions and bold colors, Nicole Richie's hair got a fresh start. She took it back to basics in 2004 with a simple blonde 'do and side-swept bangs.

A Curly Bob
Nicole Richie's hair got another major makeover when she chopped it into a short bob. The big curls really added volume and glam that any girl would love to copy.

Long Golden Locks
A few years later in 2009, she went for a much more natural look. Richie's long golden hair with lighter blonde highlights was very bohemian chic. She's never shied away from hair accessories!

That same year, Richie once again went short, this time with a slightly longer bob cut. She mixed it up with some dark lowlights that really made her eyes pop. Girl had the bronde look down before it was on trend!

In 2010, Nicole Richie's hair shocked us all. She pulled a complete 360 by revealing a dark brown color, one we'd never really seen on the trendsetter before. The blunt bangs really pulled the whole chocolatey look together and had her giving then-boyfriend and rock star Joel Madden a run for his money.

Blonder Than Ever
The next year, we saw cooler shades of blonde from Richie. Her usual honey-blonde color underneath was just visible through the vibrant platinum color on top.

Her brunette look lasted about half the year before Nicole turned back to her signature blonde color. In October 2012, her golden bronze tresses were slicked back into a classy braided bun.

Nicole Richie was working every color of the rainbow before Kylie Jenner made bright shades cool. In 2014, she bleached her hair twice before dyeing it the perfect lavender color. From there, Richie mixed up her look with various shades of pink, blue, and even green.
