Cheryl Shaw and her 17-year-old daughter Tessa had both struggled with their weight for years. As a single mother, Shaw didn't like seeing her daughter deal with the same food and exercise problems she'd had, but she wasn't sure what to do about it. "I don't want her to have a lifetime of this," she said.
So she and Tessa embarked on a 100 day challenge.
The pair teamed up for a total life shift, hitting the gym, going on runs, and changing their diets (plus or minus a few "cheat" days). At the end of the 100 days, the two had lost an astounding 74 pounds -- Tessa shedding 32 pounds and her mother 42 pounds.
What's the message? Negative habits can be broken -- with a little help from mom. [
