Mindy Kaling says she's totally cool with her
Elle magazine cover being different from the ones featuring Amy Poehler, Allison Williams, and Zooey Deschanel (on another note, how did Allison Williams score an
Elle cover?), despite what critics say.
Yesterday controversy erupted when Kaling's cover was released, and it showed the funny lady in a close up shot -- a much different look compared to the other stars' full body poses. Some critics also took issue with the fact that her cover was in black and white, not full color, especially because she's the only woman of color featured in the series.
Kaling released a short quip over Twitter to put the controversy to bed.
Elle also stands by its cover choices. "Mindy looks sexy, beautiful and chic," said a statement from the mag. "We think it is a striking and sophisticated cover and are thrilled to celebrate her in our Women in TV Issue."
