Total Beauty: What's one bad beauty habit you can't seem to quit?

Jen Atkin: Sunblock. I'm not so great about putting sunblock on my face, and I know I'm going to totally kick myself when I get older.

TB: What's one beauty splurge you make on a regular basis and think all women should, too?

Atkin: Botox. I would say anything with your face, don't go cheap. A client was talking about a Groupon for Botox, and I was like, "no, no, no." Don't go cheap on your face.

TB: What one product do you swear by?

Atkin: Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel ($74). I travel so much, and I use it on the plane. Every single flight. It keeps your skin super hydrated. For hair, it's Clear Damage and Color Repair Treatment Mask ($5.49) -- it does the same thing for my hair. When it's feeling dehydrated, it brings it back to life. I think people think cutting their hair is the only way to make it look healthy again. But if you use the right product, you can nourish your hair back to health.

TB: If you look back, what's one moment that changed your life?

Atkin: There have been so many. You know how Oprah talks about her ah-ha moments? It's crazy to think about just one. I think getting a call to work with John Galliano was a really magical moment. I got to travel to Paris and meet so many incredible people. There aren't that many geniuses out there, and that was amazing. Also, getting a call to work with Gwen Stefani. In high school, I idolized her, and getting to work with her was really incredible.

TB: If you were a nail polish, what color would you be, and what would you be called?

Atkin: I would be OPI's Cajun Shrimp. It's my favorite color -- it's great for winter, it's great for summer. It's a coral-y pop of color. And yeah, I think I'd be called Cajun Shrimp. I'm a short pop of color, I guess.
