Fashion Blogger Garance Doré Reveals The Real Way Models & Actresses Stay Thin
And -- surprise, surprise -- it's not by indulging in sweet treats every day

"Because for every friend who can eat whatever she wants and still stay thin, 10 of us have to pay a little more attention to our eating habits (like me)," she wrote. "(and I'm not talking about being anorexic or anything, but just using moderation and maybe not eating a giant piece of carrot cake after a big lunch. It's no small task.)"
But that's not how the movies and television portray it. Women are shown tons of images of other women chowing down without a care in the world. "If the girls on "Sex and the City" ... or "Bridesmaids," or any other movie/TV show/magazine REALLY spent their time eating like they did on the screen, they'd look more like Lena Dunham than Carrie Bradshaw."

Doreé takes issue with the "fairy tale" that eating tons of food "like a teenager" won't result in weight gain. "She never gains weight!" worries the average woman. "But why is it that when I eat cupcakes all the time, like her, my jeans don't fit any more? I must have a problem then, right? Am I ugly?"
And it's not just images on television or in movies -- it's also fashion blogs, that have become increasingly emulative of high fashion tropes. What's a woman to do? Be honest with ourselves and our friends about what it takes to get a bangin' hot bod. And not beat ourselves up too much if we want that piece of carrot cake at lunch. [The Garance Doré]
