If you were a "Will & Grace" fan, you can't help but expect Debra Messing to
be Grace Adler. So when I had the opportunity to interview the actress earlier this week, the first thing I asked was: "What's the best beauty advice Grace ever got from Will?"
"I think probably to use a de-frizzing hair styling lotion," Messing said without skipping a beat. "He always had a thing or two to say about her hair. And to carry pressed powder with me wherever I went -- because shine is not acceptable."
Grace's hair was, in fact, like the third roommate on the show -- often silently stealing scenes. And even though Messing is a natural brunette, her red hair continues to be her calling card. "Every few weeks, I will do a color rinse, which is just depositing color and it's moisturizing. It refreshes the color, and that has made a big difference," she says.
Messing recently took time away from her new show, "The Mysteries of Being Laura," to work with Curel and the charitable organization Direct Relief to deliver care packages to homeless families in New York City. "I've lived in New York most of my life, and the presence of homeless people is obvious, but it's a particularly difficult thing to witness in the frigid cold wintertime," she said. The new
Curel Rough Skin Rescue Smoothing Lotion, $7.99, was included in the packages -- you can
learn more about it here.
