Happy Valentine's Day! Have you considered that you and your significant other are perhaps not the very picture of physical perfection? Luckily, a new trend in plastic surgery could help fix that. Couples plastic surgery is on the rise.

The couple that goes under the knife together stays together?

According to Dr. Roy David of the La Jolla Center for Plastic Surgery in Bakersfield, California, he's seen a 30 percent uptick in couples coming in together. Maybe the woman comes in for tummy tuck while the guy comes in for a slight face lift, or vice versa. Whatever the case, David believes the increase in couples' plastic surgery has to do with a general increase in men getting plastic surgery.

Plus, he says, if one partner decides to come in for a procedure, the other one doesn't want to feel "left behind." After all, plastic surgery can result in a patient looking ten or 15 years younger. Which can make their spouse feel awfully insecure.

And in a weird way, couples plastic surgery can be a bonding experience, too. "You knew what the other was going through," said Jackie Jernigan, who got a facelift along with her husband David. What do you think of the couples plastic surgery trend? [ABC News]
