As you may have heard, Beyonce had a run in with a fan on Monday night. And, no, it wasn't the overzealous, autograph-seeking kind.
Queen Bey was on stage in hot and humid Montreal and mid-set, during a rousing rendition of "Halo," stepped a wee bit too close to an oscillating fan, which devoured her considerable head of hair.
Ever the consummate pro, Beyonce, remained calm and didn't miss a beat as security and several handlers attempted to extricate her entangled hair. (She even had enough of a sense of humor to post this snippet of video on her
Instagram following the show.)
Ultimately, she was freed and, to the delight of
tout le monde, continued the concert. But, what's she - or anyone else who has a run in with a rotating blade or, say, a wad of gum - supposed to do now?
According to Wella Professionals Celebrity Hair colorist, Jennifer J., "wearing your hair in braids would be a great, super on-trend solution while you wait for the fan cut pieces to grow out." Jennifer also says that "you can sport a beach-y or more layered look to help the chopped bits to better blend in" and suggests that if the damage is really extensive, "getting a few hair extensions to blend in the short pieces" could be the best bet fix.
Surely, Blue Ivy's mama already has a team of pros in place working on a solution (and with any luck, it was a weave that got stuck and not her real hair), but those of us without many minions should definitely file away Jennifer J's tips because ... accidents do happen.
