Easy Home Remedies For Damaged Hair

Try these at home remedies to rescue damaged hair

Your hair goes through a lot of stress on a daily basis: from heated styling tools to multiple products to sun exposure, its no wonder that a majority of women suffer from damaged hair. Sure, you can go to your local salon and get a deep conditioning treatment or spend all your money on hair masques and other products that promise to rid you of your damaged hair for good, but over time the costs add up and just maintaining your hair can become a major expense. Here are some easy home remedies for damaged hair that will keep your hair looking great while at the same time protecting your pocketbook.

One of the simplest home remedies for damaged hair is to make your own hair masque. There are a variety of products lying around in your kitchen that will help bring life back to your damaged hair. Avocado and bananas are natural home remedies for damaged hair. Just take both fruits, mash them up in a bowl then slather on your hair. Leave on for an hour then wash off. If you do not have either of those items in your kitchen, beer is another great product that will restore shine into your hair. After shampooing, rinse your hair with beer, then run cold water over your hair in order to get rid of the scent.

Egg mixed with water is another one of the most popular home remedies for damaged hair. Just whisk the ingredients up in a bowl, apply to hair and then rinse off. You can also mix vinegar with olive oil, slather on hair, then put on a shower cap and let the mixture soak into your hair for thirty minutes before rinsing. Coconut oil is another great ingredient used for healing hair that is dry and damaged. Massage the oil into your hair, leave on overnight and rinse off the next morning.

I read somewhere on this website about honey and olive oil for dry damaged hair. I gage it a try last night and my hair feels so much healthier. I color my hair, bleach it, blow dry, straighten, all the things we are told damage our hair. So I used about 1/4 cup of honey and a couple tablespoons of olive oil. Mix until it has the consistency of thin applesauce. Put on hair, focusing on the dry areas (usually the ends). Leave on for 1-2 hours then rinse with cool water. Now you're hair probably wont feel "silky soft " but you will notice a difference in the texture. Meaning it will feel stronger and just healthier overall. It was an inexpensive salon quality hair mask that I will most likely add to my hair regimen.
