How To Blow Dry Hair Straight

Learn how to blow dry your hair with these tips

Your hairstylist always does such an amazing job when it comes to blowdrying your hair, but when it comes time for you to attempt to recreate her craftsmanship at home, you find that it is incredibly difficult trying to blow dry hair straight. She made it look so easy at the salon, but will you be able to repeat what she did? You can mimic that glossy blowout by just following these steps that will show you exactly what you need to do in order to look like you just stepped out of the hair salon.

First, shampoo and condition your hair. Try John Frieda Smooth Start Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner, which help your hair appear smoother when you attempt to blow dry hair straight. This hair duo will smooth and repair your hair strands by sealing in your split ends and restoring your natural defense against frizz. By helping obtain the proper moisture balance in your hair, you will block out humidity and make yourself immune to frizz. After rinsing out your conditioner, blast your hair with cold water, as that will help close the pores of your hair, sealing in the protein from the shampoo and conditioners, in addition to smoothing out your hair strands.

The next step you need to take when you want to blow dry hair straight is to apply a heat protectant. Try Nexxus Heat Protexx, an alcohol free styling spray that will protect your hair from heat styling for a smoother finish. Next, rub a quarter sized amount of straightening balm in your palms and distribute evenly throughout hair. Clip your hair into sections and take your time as you proceed to blow dry each individual section. Use a thick round brush to pull your hair downwards away from your head at a forty five degree angle, following with the blow dryer. Do the underside of the section first, then finish with the top area in order to smooth the texture of your hair. Repeat until dry.

Ugh I wish it was as easy as they say. I have such thick long hair it seems to take forever.

Nice step by step instructions. A good heat protective spray is also good, or if you don't like using those, then deep condition your hair twice a week to prevent severe damage.
