how old were you when you started to get gray hair? i am 34 and for now i am alright with it.

I'm probably a little young to respond to this. I'm 23 and haven't spotted any yet. However I have friends my age who started spotting them in their late teens! I also had a teacher in high school who was completely gray by the time she turned 30. So there's a lot of variability in it. My husband (who is 31) actually has more gray hair than my dad (who is 62).

Hi, i am 25 years old i do not have grey hair problem at present. I saw the persons who have grey hair. I think it would come after 45 years not surely i am telling it may not be happened.

Unfortunately, I discovered one or two gray hairs at only age 21!!!! I was mortified!!! I started coloring my hair in my 30's I think, when the gray got more prominent. I am now 46, and because I have a "young looking face" (or so I am told!), the "salt & pepper" look would look weird to me. So I continue to color it, which is a pain, going every 4 weeks. It feels like a chore, like doing laundry!

I believe it is hereditary in a lot of cases. Both my dad & aunt had premature gray. I think my aunt got a few grays in her teens!!!

I'm 29 (will be 30 in a few weeks) and so far no grays. I do know a few people who started going gray in high school. I even knew a guy who graduated from high school with a receding hair line. My mom started going gray when she was 35 but my dad didn't go gray till he was in his 50's. Since I have my dad's hair I hope my hair is going to wait that long. Then again I already color it because I hate my natural hair color.

my grandpa died at 60 yrs old without any gray hair. My mom got her first gray hair last year, and so far it's the only one. She wants gray hair so bad because she wants the all white hair look, but doesn't want to dye her hair for it.

my mom says my little brother and i will probably get gray hair because we were both born with highlighted little hairs around our head (i had "ariel-red" hairs in my jet black curls and my little brother had light blonde in his brown), while my older brother was born with jet black hair and no little highlighted hairs so he might've gotten my grandpa's hair help gene.

so far, my brothers and i have nothing. we're in our 20s and 1 in teens.
