first it should be known that these problems are hereditary for me. my mother has also always had the same thing really bad. anyhoo, my eyes are relatively deep set, the skin underneath my eyes is very thin and is always very dark, and i have puffy bags under my eyes no matter how much sleep i get. on top of all that the fine lines are coming a lot faster than i expected them to. i wasn't prepared for this. i feel like i need a miracle, but i will take any advice i can get at this point, i am very self-conscious about this problem and want to do what i can to improve it.

Dark circles and water retention under the eyes is hereditary. There are a lot of products out there, but I for one, am sold on BeautiControl. I know the products are a little high, BUT, they are concentrated and last a very long time if used properly and are worth the price. A few tips that I can give you is that everyone's skin beneath the eyes are thin, so when rubbing them, always, always rub towards your nose very gently, as the skin is easily pulled and can over time be made to wrinkle causing those wonderful crows feet we all know and love so well. Keep your skin well moisturized before applying your concealer, and use a small brush to dab it on (not rub it on). Try using a concealer that is just a little lighter than your skin tone. If needed, apply a second coat of the concealer to your under eye. Apply a loose powder over the concealer to set it. Never use the same shadow as your eye color. I hope this has helped you.

thank you, that is helpful. especially about the concealor. i had never thought of applying a second coat and setting it with powder (i'm not much of an expert with cosmetics). also about the eyeshadow. i don't use the exact same color, but i do use the almay shadows that are intended to play up blue eyes and there are a few blue shades, dark navy and a light sky blue, among some dark and lighter browns and a bronze color. it makes sense though about not wearing the same color as your eyes! i have noticed that the light blue color especially makes my eyes look kind of strange, like it is just too much of one color (because of my light blue eyes). thanks for the advice!

Well I would suggest using a concealer that is going to take away the blue. To do that you need an orange based concealer, also get one that is going to reflect the light, if it is really severe you may want to use a heavier concealer. Eye Cream, I would suggest Future Perfect from Estee Lauder. Try this primer under your concealer from Smashbox, http://www.smashbox.com/PHOTO-FINISH-COLOR-CORRECTING-FOUNDATION-PRIMER. I use Shiseido's White Lucent Brightening eye cream during the day and their Bio Performance eye cream at night. The WL eye cream will help with the discoloration under your eyes and by your nose. It contains a brightening powder the reflects the light and also ingredients to help with the circulation to reduce the circles over time. The Bio eye cream will help with firmness, puffiness and circles at night. You do not need to use a full pump since it dispenses way too much product. Since I've been using the WL eye cream, I do not need to use concealer any more under my eyes. It's something for you to consider.
