I thought that this section would be the best place to put this in since it is about beauty (skin, clothing, body shape) etc.

Has anyone ever been color typed or had a color analysis done to see what colors they look best in or what fits their shape, etc.?

Uggg, I have been to several websites and the breakdown seriously has me confused.

First of all, I have cool undertones in my skin, which makes me either a winter or a summer.

Second, I have dark brown hair with reddish flows to it especially in the sun which either makes me a which could reflect with any season but I have to leave out spring and autumn because I am have cool undertones, although autumn seems to fit me best because the highlights especially glow in the sunlight.

Third, THE EYES, oh the eyes, I have green/blue eyes, sometimes they can be blue, sometimes green, sometimes green and blue. I have often looked into a mirror and they were so powerful you could almost see right thru them (when green is dominant). That would make me a Spring (but really it is very hard to say on this particular website) because I do not fall into any particular one, but Spring fit best with eyes. But, my skin has pink undertones, so I am not a Spring.

Oh and then there is the difference in winters also clear winters, Winter I, II and III categories.

Ugggg.....sorry so long

Anyone ever been color typed.

Actually I know companies that do that, but I dont follow that summer, winter, fall. They claim I am a winter and I will orange, blue, green eye shadow if I want. So my suggestion is it depends on your eye color, what type of look your wanting, the only thing that needs to match your skin tone is your foundation, you can either be a warm or cool tone, otherwise do what you want. Here is a site I found, http://www.carolthompsoncosmetics.com/IBS/SimpleCat/InfoPage.asp?Comp_ID=7157. I was trained in color analysis several years back and you sound like the average "winter". "Winters" look great in pure white, reds with a blue undertone, navy blues, turquoise, hot pink, and many other variety of colors. Orange and pastels are not your colors, but you can wear them as long as they are not near your face. You really didn't ask what you needed to know, tho. Is there anything specific that you are looking for?

Hi ladybug :)

I was just trying to figure out what colors would look best on me and everything seemed to conflict and I would not find out which season I was.

Cool/pink undertones (light, but not pale skin)
Blue/Green Eyes (sometimes blue/green, sometimes all blue/sometimes all green)
Dark Brown Hair with Red Highlights appearing thru (esp. in the sunlight)

Nothing matches with one specific season.

From what I read on the internet:

Winters do not have blue/green eyes, nor do they have Red highlights in their hair.

They do have cool/pink undertones as well as spring.

I am just really confused about all of it and was trying to find colors (clothing) and eyeshadows and lipglosses that would look really nice on me.

Believe it or not, I look great in green, pure white, and brown if it is somewhat patterned. Navy blue I do not fair well in. I noticed that cream (of white color) did not stand out as great on me, but it didn't look too bad. Can't ya tell I have been trying on clothing in the stores!!!

Can you get a hold of a pure gold and pure silver piece of fabric? If so, hold them both up to your face and look in the mirror. If the circles under your eyes dimish and your cheeks seem brighter with the gold, you are a warm, and vice versa with the silver/cool. We did this when I was in school for esthetics, and it really seemed to be accurate. Also, don't let your eye color throw you off. You can have one tone for your skin and one for your eyes. I'm as cool as cool can be, but my eyes are a warm brown with gold flecks.

Whatever you end up being, there are no set rules. Maybe use "what they say" as loose guidelines and experiment from there.
