I wanted to share an accidental discovery in case there's anyone out there who might have a problem similar to mine. I have terrible spider veins around my ankles and on the top of my feet. Apparently this ugly condition is hereditary because my mother had them too and they seem to worsen with time. I plan to have them treated by a dermatologist eventually, whenever they stop spreading (if they ever do).

I tried creme coverups made specifically for camouflaging body flaws and while they work, they are messy; they smudge; they stain your clothes; and if your skin is the least bit dry, the end result is almost as unattractive as what you're trying to hide. Several months ago, I bought some Loreal mineral makeup to try on my face and for some reason, I decided to try it on the spider veins. It works like magic! If it gets on your clothes, it washes right out and it covers well, blends beautifully with your skin tone, and lasts until you wash it off. It doesn't dry out your skin and I just love it! It used to take about thirty minutes to exfoiliate, moisturize, and apply the cover-up to the spider veins. Now I can cover them in less than five minutes. I use a large make-up brush instead of the brush that comes with the makeup, which makes the application much quicker. Anyone with unsightly spider veins who wants to wear shorts or a dress without stockings should definitely try Loreal mineral makeup. It is also much, much cheaper than the creme coverups and requires no finishing powders or sprays.
