Okay, so my sister-in-law just got her hair done (short cut and blonde highlights and OMG, it looked super cute!) Hopefully someone can give me some advice. As you can see on my picture, I have very dark hair (I could say it's black). I have an olive, yellow undertone and I want to do something different to my hair (color wise). I just got it cut similar to Lauren Conrad (short cut) but I still look the same. I would like to do highlights but I'm stuck! I don't know what color? I have tried blonde or should I say very light highlights and they really didn't look good on me. I looked way darker than I already am! I'm kind or thinking of doing maybe caramel colored highlights? Not sure though. Has anyone had the same issues as me and could advice? Thanks.

I would just stay with the dark colors. I have the same skin tone as you and I look so weird with light hair. Just recently I put foils of different shades of brown. Everyone likes it.

Thanks Marissms for the suggestion. I'm kind of thinking of doing the same thing. I know I don't want blonde highlights but maybe going maybe a few shades lighter would work. Question though, is your hair as dark as mine too?

Well mine is not black but its a really dark brown. So I put in some pieces of really dark and some that are almost carmel. You can do more colors if you want but I didnt want mine to be really light. Is this your natural or is it color?

My natural color is black. But with perming and chemically straightening and coloring it (throughout the years). Whenever I do color it, it usually turns like a auburn color for some reason. The last time I colored I used a brown/black color to try to get my natural tone back.
