(I started this topic)

I broke out with a severe rash on my upper chest, lips were super dry, and my eye lids swelled up with incrediably dry itchy skin. The dermatologist gave me a couple prescriptions, said I was most lucky allergic to one of the anti-aging ingrediants. I use several products and am having a hard time determining which one it is? Any suggestions?

Maybe retinol? Or alpha hydroxy acid?

Wow, it's hard when you use multiple products, each of which has multiple ingredients! (I do that too) You could try phasing out one product at a time, on each of the areas.

You could try "Googling" each of the anti-aging ingredients and seeing if others had reactions to it. I know alpha hydroxy or retinol can cause reactions or extreme dryness in sensitive skin. Both make your skin more sensitive to the sun, which could react without sunscreen.

I've read that the less ingredients a product contains, the less likely it will cause a reaction. Also fragrance free is best too. I haven't tried the theory on "less is more", but I've started on it in the past few weeks.
