Okay girls, so I have brown hair & brown eyes. I usually wear "safe" colors. You know, like browns, dark golds, pinks, light purples. I just recently bought a greenish-gold color. Fortunately I'm happy with the result of it.

Depending on what look you want to achieve, blue can do wonders. Start by using it as a liner and slowly add it to your look. It's great as an accent but not as an overall allover color. I mix mine with other colors and use it as an accent for a dramatic look. In summer, I use a very pale blue all over with different shades of greens and blues to accent it. Clarins has a gorgeous blue liner that is bright and perfect for summer. Shiseido has two different blue hues in the Hydro eye shadow pots. The pots are great since you can very the intensity of the color by adding more or less to it. They can also be used as a liner or mixed with their cream eyeliner to achieve a different look and feel. I say for you to go for it and have fun. But, please just don't try the classic and criminal "robin's egg" all over blue by it's self with a fucia lip stick. I know some one who is stuck in that phase and they are in their 60's.

I love blue eyeshadow, but find that other colours emphasise my (grey-blue) eyes better, like purples, greens and browns.

You're lucky, btyadt. People with brown eyes can wear just about every color there is and completely get away with it. Depending on what occasion, it's okay for you to wear blue eyeshadow. I personally like the color blue, but since I have blue eyes I can't wear blue eyeshadow. It washes out the color of my eyes, no matter what shade. :( Very few blue-eyed people can get away with wearing blue eyeshadow, and I envy those who can.

I have brown eyes too and I just love it! You truly can wear almost anything on your eyelids with those peepers!I own alot of blue/turquoise eyeshadow myself and I have found that when I wear it I really need to downplay any other color cosmetics I am going to put on my face. Otherwise I end up looking like Tammy Faye Bakker! A lighter blue (like maybe a baby blue or a seafoam) eyeshadow that has some shimmer would probably be the most flattering shade of blue you could wear. Those lighter shimmery shades tend to better bring out the depth of a brown eye!

I think it depends on the intensity of the blue, and the occasion. Personally I find it too "obvious" for daytime, (like even in an office with fluorescent lighting) unless it's a blueish gray. I guess I'm dating myself too by saying that blue reminds me of the 70's when I was a teenager. Back then, bright blue and green shadow was THE thing. Interesting how it's come back into fashion again...

Love it! There are ways you can apply it where you don't look like a 1980's groupie. I've done it a few times where people go, "OMG I just noticed you had blue eyeshadow."
