Did you see our article on crazy celebrity makeup looks? We compared good and bad faces from some of our favorite stars. I think the overall lesson is that less is generally a lot better than more. What do you think?

Although you posted that Christina's look broke the rules of makeup, many of woman have done so and some have even made that look famous. Her makeup style in the "Leave it" pic resembles the pin-up style.

Well, this is a really good way to learn, especially for those of us who don't have just absolutely stunning looks in the first place. Christina is so pretty, but it was obvious that she had made a "leave it" mistake from the looks she created on the left. It looks phony and plasticky. The other side is really beautiful look and really just from following that one rule--emphasize only one feature. It was a good lesson for me.

I think most of the critique was right on, but I also think that people who are deliberately trying to look goth or funky, like Kelly Osbourne or Helena Bonham Carter, should not be judged by the same standard of "rules".
