I just saw an infomercial about the Wen hair care products. It looks promising, I have very thin hair that I have to wash daily because it gets oily quick. When I wash, or comb my hair it breaks. I've tried several kinds of shampoo a lot of seems to help at first and then stops. I was wondering if any of you have tried the Wen products, I would like to get some input before I forgo the expense. I hate the oily, slick feel that I get when my hair isn't clean. Since the product doesn't lather, does it really clean your hair, or does it make it feel greasy? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

I ordered the 6oz bottle of the sweet almond mint cleaning conditioner from Naturallycurly.com. So after it arrives (I can't wait!) I'll post my results on here so that if anyone else wants to know about it, it can give them some info. I wanted to get the offer from the wen hair care website but I was afraid that if I didn't like it, then I would be stuck with all that product. This way, I get a chance to test it out, with out a huge commitment. So, we will see.....

My Wen finally came in this morning. I got the 6 oz Sweet Almond Mint. I couldn't wait to use it! I read the directions first so that I had somewhat of a clue what to do. I rinsed my hair and made sure it was saturated completely. Then I started to pump the product into my hand. The pump was giving me trouble, every 5-6 pumps, I would get one pump of product. GRRRRRRRRR very frustrating! After a few seconds it started to work properly. Needless to say I have no clue how many pumps it took. I worked it through my hair making sure I massaged my scalp and my ends were saturated. I could feel the tingle in my scalp. It was glorious! The smell was nice, not too overpowering. I used my wide tooth comb to make sure it was evenly distributed. When I was done with my shower, I rinsed my hair and because a lot of the reviews I read said that their hair felt oily when it dried, I used my wide tooth comb to make sure I got all of it out. It felt kinda icky, not soft like some of the other people had wrote. On the bottle it says you can add a pump or two to your damp hair for an added conditioner. I skipped this step because I didn't want it to be oily or heavy. I ran my wide tooth comb though my damp hair and it kept snagging. At this point, I'm not too happy. =( I let it air dry in hopes that it would get better. When totally dry, my hair felt soft, but still looked a little fizzy. I have naturally wavy hair that is very, very thin. Basically my hair looked the same as usual with maybe some more shine. It was clean however, that was another one of my concerns, of how can a conditioner clean my hair? I decided not to give up on it, maybe I didn't do it right, or maybe 2nd times the charm. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 it would be maybe a 4. Well, I tried it again tonight. I used 16 pumps, it fully saturated my hair and I used my comb to evenly distribute it. After my routine I rinsed out my hair, this time not using my comb and my hair felt better, this time soft, not icky. When I towel dried my hair, I used 1/2 of a pump, rubbed it on my ends and then the rest of my hair. When combing my damp hair, it didn't snag at all and still felt soft and smooth. Much better than the 1st time. After it dried completely it was much better than when I used it earlier. My hair is soft and shinier, my frizz is better, but not totally under control. I think with this product it's a matter of trial and error, I just have to find out what works for me. It definitely feels clean and my scalp is still a little tingly from it, I like it. On a scale from 1 to 10, I give it an 7. So, we'll see what tomorrow brings! I'm not quite sure about this product, It cleans well, smells nice, and my hair is nice and soft. I just hope it does better on my fly a way hair. I have read a lot of reviews about Wen, and it seems to 50/50 on how people like it. I've read that it's the best thing since sliced bread, and on the opposite side how they totally hate it. I think it's all a matter of preference, I guess you just have to try it to see how it works on your own hair. Hope this helps for anyone that is looking to try this product.

Hi, I live in Florida where the weather is hot and humid. My hair is colored and needs special care every time I wash it. I also have some frizz because I have natural curls. So I thought I will give WEN a try and see what it does, since all the celebrities who use it have great looking hair. The first time I used it I thought it looked more smooth. Then I used it every other day and now my hair is to a point where I don't have frizz anywhere and it is more manageable without any other stuff I put into it. I use the WEN styling cream with 2 pumps and blow dry it or just let it air dry with my curls. I have to say I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on hair stylists and products. This product is a 12 out of 10.

I ( like everyone else) was up early on a saturday morning, and saw the commerical. My brother in law is a cosmotologist and so naturally I called him to find out if it was known to be a good product. He said he had heard good things, but had not used it personally.

If you have oily or thin hair, I recommend calling the number instead of ordering online! I am still waiting for my order. When I called to place my order, they said they had a different hair care line for people with thin/oily hair. I think it was cucumber mint or something like that! I hope this is helpful! Have a wonderful day!

I am 50+, my hair has high and low lights AND it is long (bottom of my shoulder blades) I was fighting some serious damage caused by a stylist who put me under very high heat after applying a Blazing (name of a type of highlighting method) foil treatment. I ordered my WEN, but I ran out of the 30 day trail period bottle in three weeks, and didn't reorder fast enough, so I had to return to using shaoo and conditioner for two weeks. (do auto ship it is worth it!) I LOVE this product. Sure it isn't a miracle repair. But it has improved my damaged hair's appearance 70% and upped the shine by 80%. It smells great, never leaves my hair oily feeling and makes my my scalp feel good (tingly). The styling product is never stiff and I've never been one to use product in my hair. I was going to finally admit defeat and just do a major cut, now I won't even consider the possibility. I work at a retail one stop beauty destination and I receive compliments all the time on my hair. THANK YOU CHAZ DEAN!!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!

Sounds like your need hair rehab. If you use a conditioner daily that contains protein, most likely, you're drying out your hair which is contributing to the unruliness. I can only tolerate a protein once a week. I deep condition twice a week- 1 day with a moisture only product and the other day, I use a reconstructor which contains protein. The protein helps to physically repair your hair which is damaged thru heat, products, styling, etc.

chelbelle77 wrote: BUYER BEWARE!!! Alright, so this is a long one. For those of you just skimming the reviews I will just say THINK TWICE BEFORE COMMITTING YOURSELF TO THE WEN HAIR CARE SYSTEM. I have naturally curly hair that I typically blow dry and then straighten with a ceramic flat iron 1-2 times weekly. My typical problems are dryness, split ends and general unruliness. I didn't expect Wen to be a cure-all, but I thought it could at least lessen some of my hair issues and provide a more reliable way of conditioning my hair while keeping it from drying out. Wen did help, at first, but like so many other products it seemed to lose its effectiveness after the 5th or 6th time I used it. That being said, the biggest problem with Wen is by far Guthy-Renker, the company that Mr. Chaz Dean has chosen as a vehicle for its distribution. Ive had serious issues with GR before. A little more than a year ago, I tried Sheer Cover, a mineral makeup collection (ala Bare Minerals) distributed by GR which promised flawless results with its rejuvenating formula. The product was great and I received many complements, but continued use wasn't worth dealing with GR flawed sales methods and shady practice of billing its customers/cardholders. Again and again, I canceled (having opted out of the monthly package in the first place) and again and again I received more of the product in the mail with my card being charged upon its shipment. Phone calls to GuthyRenker to cancel never helped. They kept shipping and charging with one charge over $90 which cause an overdraft in my debit account. Twice I found myself in line at the post office, product in hand, refusing delivery and sending it back to GR to await a refund. What finally ended it was me writing a note in the receipt's comment box telling them that it was my forth time trying to cancel and I was contacting the BBB for interference in my checking account. So after all that why would I trust Guthy Renker again and order Wen? Half stupidity, half desperation. Before ordering, I did my research and browsed online reviews, most of which were positive. I even talked to a GR rep through the 1800 # and got her to answer billing and product questions. All that being done, I went for it and ordered the starter kit through the Wen website. I knew I had one month to try it out and cancel if I didn't want to be billed for the 3 month kit which follows. A few weeks past and I'm wondering where it is. Did my order go through? Seemed so because I was sure billed immediately for it. 3 weeks after I placed the order it showed up. I used it right away, taking the directions into the shower with me to make sure I was using it correctly. Chaz recommends using an ample amount (24-32 pumps for medium-long hair) because if you use too little you are not going to see the fabulous results. I'm thinking of the money Ive just spent; one bottle is supposed to be a month's supply, but if you use the directions faithfully one bottle may only last two weeks. I blow dried my hair and went through my normal routine. The results were great- my hair felt incredibly clean and lightweight, it looked shiny and the sweet almond smell was uplifting. It also eased my dryness dramatically and made my routine much faster and easier. After the second time I used it, the results were even better and my color seemed to be brighter and more vibrant. My husband also loved the smell and complimented me heavily on how it looked and felt. I thought 'finally, something that actually works'. Yet after one week the problems started. My 3 month kit showed up a week and a half after the starter kit. So much for the 30 day trial. To give GR a small bit of credit, they broke up the $86+ into 3 separate payments so the first debit didn't do any major damage, but still the principle of it seemed pretty unfair. I wasn't sure what to do because at that time I was still liking the results and knew I was going to run out soon but I was still afraid of GR's practices and getting roped into another bad experience. Three weeks into the system, the results faded and my color became very drab. My hair started drying out and the ends were becoming frayed and straw-like while my scalp became oily making the top portion of my hair substantially weighed down. Any body my hair had in the first few weeks was long gone, replaced by this horrible combo head of bone-dry hair and oily dark roots (not hair color)- it literally looked like i had dyed my hair two shades from the top to bottom. I had followed the directions to a T and hadn't made any changes besides using it a bit more liberally than the guide calls for, because after all Chaz says you cant use too much! I tried the deep conditioning serum from the starter kit which provided some extra conditioning and eased the dryness, but only temporarily. Two weeks later I needed the serum again just to get my hair back to where it was before I first started Wen, and you are only supposed to use the deep conditioner every six weeks!! I finally gave up and went to Rite-aid and bought some dove shampoo/cond. All in all, pretty disappointing. The three month system is still under my bathroom sink with one full bottle unused. The other companion products (texturizing stick and the balm) seemed to hurt the results more than help them. They make your hair feel greasy and untouchable (silicone base) even if you use them in the first week when the results are actually good. Also the sweet almond scent gets nauseating after a while, though that could be just me. I smell it now and it just reminds me of the money I wasted and how stupid I was to trust GR again. For those not swayed, I would still say give it a try but under no circumstances should you order it from the website or infomercial because you will be dealing with GR. Buy it on Amazon to avoid surprise charges showing up on your account- its still expensive but at least you know what you're getting. Just don't be surprised if the results don't last- its by no means a miracle product. What are the products you are referring too? I would like to purchase them and give them a shot. Thanks in advance for your time and help.
