(I started this topic)

I think I've decided to break down and get a manicure and pedicure done by someone besides myself.

Any tips (no pun intended) on how to find a place?

I've found that day spa-type places usually do great jobs with nails, esp. if it's a big place with lots of well-trained people. Just make sure to check out the place first for the usual safety guidelines and such to be sure it's clean and legitimate.

I always look up reviews online for salons/spas, too... and check the menu of services. If they only offer the most basic of manis/pedis, the staff might not be very skilled. If they offer unique or special variations of manis/pedis, natural AND artificial nail services, a big variety etc. - you can more easily bet the staff knows what they're doing!

Good luck :))
