(I started this topic)

I have been getting some really red acne on my shoulders and upper back lately. What products do you guys suggest?

I know my fiance started using the Netrogena body wash about a year ago. His back is far from perfect, but it has dramatically decreased the amount of acne on his back.

I've been using my facial cleanser (Olay Total Effects Anti-blemish) and it's been working on my chest and shoulders. In the past I've also used the Neutrogena anti-acne body wash and it worked really well but was drying. Has anyone tried the Cetaphil anti-bacterial soap? I'm wondering if that would be gentle alternative.

I've decided that it really doesn't matter what brand you use, you just need to find something with 2% salicylic acid. Neutrogena has it, and you can find it even cheaper in the various different store brands. Murad has a great body wash with salicylic acid in it, but it's incredibly pricey. Try one with the 2% and I'm betting you'll see an improvement.

you might be getting breakouts because of your shampoo. i know i did for a year and i didn't know how to stop it. well when i changed my hair product my breakouts stopped.

Definitely use Neutrogena Body Scrub. As for shampoo, it can cause you to break out as well. I recommend after you shampoo you hair, that you rinse your back/body real well so you won't be left with shampoo residue.

The Neutrogena Acne-Free Body Wash does minimize breakouts on the back and shoulders, but it doesn't stop them completely. Clinique sells a spray that you can spray on your back that is supposed to get rid of breakouts, but I have not tried it.

I use the same cleanser that works for my face on my body acne... I use a prescription 5% benzoyl peroxide lotion cleanser, retin-A gel, and egg white mask

I've never really found any product that works on my shoulders and chest acne, tbh. They've got much better with time though (I'm 22 now) and sunshine helps as well (but remember this is England, we barely get any!). The sun is a bit of a lose-lose situation though, as I'm pale and burn easily!!
Still, if it's getting better now by itself, I'm not going to aggravate it...
