Why did you like the L'Oreal True Match? I'd be interested to hear, because I hated it...

Hi Bianca!
I love the L'Oreal True Match foundation and have been wearing it for a couple years. I find the shade range to be wonderfully extensive, which is a huge plus, in my mind. I find that it blends easily and settles to a natural finish, without adding greasiness to my oily skin. It lasts throughout the day and there's a shade that's a perfect match for my skin. I love and use the liquid foundation, concealer, and powder, as well as a couple of the blushes. I think it's the best drugstore foundation line.

Has anyone tried Cover Girl's TruBlend foundation? That is one I'd like to test next..

I tried it a couple years ago and liked it, but not quite as much as L'Oreal True Match.

Thanks Ladybug! I'll give this a gander as well. Maybe a sale at Rite Aid will help me make a decision?? ;-)

Jen, Armani is probably the only foundation I have not tried. I need to take a shopping trip to Chicago to get that. I have heard nothing but praise about Armani. Oh, except the price.

Thanks for replying :) Saying that, I think I've probably got confused somewhere - the only L'Oreal true match stuff we have here in the UK is the mineral foundation and the pressed powder. I love the pressed powder but found the mineral foundation to be appallingly bad, but it sounds like you're talking about a further extension of the range that we don't (yet) have here in the UK. I shall look out for it and hope its quality matches the True Match powder rather than the mineral foundation!

I know some people don't like mineral makeup, but right now I'm adoring a brand of foundation called Joppa; it blends so well and leaves my skin with the healthiest, dewiest (but not too dewy) finish. Their blushes and bronzers are also awesome! It might be worth a shot for some of you :)

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind! I'm always on the lookout for new stuff :D

Mineral makeup confuses me a little, are you supposed to mix your own colors? It's kind of intimidating and I know I would totally screw that up, yikes!

(I started this topic)

since I started the thread, I thought I'd answer!
My skin seems to be on the normal side right now (it can run dry).

I am LOVING Chanel Mat Lumiere - I could not wear this if my skin was on the dry side as it would show patchy dryness (but not as bad as some foundations!). I don't have to powder throughout the day. Even with normal-dry skin, I always found myself powdering my nose by noon. I love that this is a somewhat matte finish- but not dead-matte. :o) I really find good color matches with Chanel.

I've also been known to slather on CoverGirl Clean Makeup. I love the Noxzema scent - it reminds me of my mom, so I think that's the only reason I wear it. It has a nice light coverage, but nothing earth shattering with quality or finish.

when I'm feeling dry, I use BareEscentuals. I know it probably doesn't help matters - but it also doesn't accentuate the dryness like a liquid does. I like to wear this in the Summer though - on days when I'm running around and don't want a very made-up look.

most recently I purchased Chanel Poudre Douce in Azalea (which I think is LE color). I brushed this on my face instead of BE on Saturday for a race (and nothing else). (i'm wearing it in my profile pic) I know its not a foundation, but its a nice alternative for a healthy glow without the mess of lose BE powders.

Sadly, MAC was the worst foundations I've ever tried. I never found a color that worked for me - and the formulas just were not perfect.

Yeah, I didn't like L'Oreal's mineral powder, either, so I'm with you on that. I hope you get the other products in the line and that you like them!

Lots of companies do suggest that you mix colors so that you get a perfect match. No way. If I can't find my particular match, I just say "to heck with it."
