I use products made specifically for the upper eye lid because that's a tricky area. Creams can migrate into the eye and many undereye creams are heavy which makes this more of a possibility. I have had very good results with Dr. Denese's products.

She makes an eye cream specifically for the upper eyelid. It's called the HydroShield Eye Fix Duo. It's a two compartment product. The light upper eyelid cream firms and hydrates and the lower gel moisturizes and reduces puffiness in the long term. The upper eye cream is light and absorbs really well. Her HydroShield Eye Serum is great to use on the upper eyelid also to retain moisture. These are simplistic descriptions but you can read more about them if you want to on qvc.com or drdenese.com. I've been very happy with my results. Her prices seem high but by buying from QVC in kits I've been able to get cutting edge products at drugstore prices in the long run. It takes forever to use up most of them.

I notice that some eye creams emphasize that they're ONLY for the under eye area, and others don't specify. Besides handling wrinkles and dark circles, I'd like to moisturize my lids as well, but I've heard that I shouldn't put my normal moisturizer on them.

What do you guys think? Do you use your moisturizer on your lids? Your eye cream? Do you use different products for your lids vs. under your eyes?

I will either use a Gel first (if puffy), or a Serum.
Let sit a few minutes, then apply a cream. I DO use different products on different areas.
The advice I always got at the cosmetic counters was to put creams on the bone areas, but I go right under the eye, too. Don't go too close to avoid the cream migrating into the eye.
Piece of advice: I take just a TINY dab of cream with my ring finger, tap BOTH ring fingers together, and apply lightly/pat on. DON't take a big gob, it's not necessary.
IF it feels too moist when it's time for the ol' eye makeup, just take a tissue and press to remove the excess.
NEXT use a good Eye Primer like Mary Kay signature eye primer (or anyone else's, I suppose) and let it dry. Sounds like alot of steps or work, BUT I'd rather do this daily than go under the knife later in life.
Pls see my other posts regarding my use of cosmetics.

OH OH OH, I've tried dozens of potions, and the BEST All-In-One I found so far is Clarins Super-Restorative Total Eye Concentrate. It's pricey at $72, but it worked miracles on my eyes when I became ill = and consequently lazy and neglective (is that a word) with my skin care.
I'm currently looking for a cheaper alternative, targeting the UPPER LIDS, as they're starting to get a little "fatty"? and not as contoured as they once were. (I'm only 52 yrs. old) Anyone have great success with the (Avon) eye lift or other name products? Thank you so much for taking the time to respond...I'm on a Serious Hunt here. LOL

Anyone else love Dr. Denese's HydroShield? I'm looking for an Upper Eye Area firming/fat? reducing product. I can use a separate GEL for the undereye area.

Aveda's Green Science Firming Eye Cream is THE BEST. I'm only (almost) 29, but I started getting puffy bags, dark circles and tiny bumps under my eyes. The stuff isn't cheap, but it is less than what many people pay for their current brand. I used it only a couple of times when I first noticed a big difference in color and texture. I'm going on two weeks now and I love it. It just works.

If you want a good eye cream for under eye circle, please check out Shiseido's White Lucent eye cream. Since I've been using it, I do not need concealer any more under the eyes. It has brightening powders in it that show an immediate improvement and the more you use it, the longer lasting the effect. I use that one during the day and the Bio eye at night - for my wrinkles and circles. Your local Shiseido counter should have samples of this available for you to try.

there are plenty of gels available in cosmetic shops... just get one and use...
also get your haemoglobin tested... if its less... then take a course of iron tablets...
eat a lot of green vegetables and fruits... and drink at-least 2 litres of water a day...
ensure at-least 9hrs sound sleep every night...

Beauticontrols eye creams are great because they're targeted at the age of your skin, there's the 20's, 30's, 40's, & 50+ eye creams. For just dark circles and puffiness the eye-x-cel is great. If you use a eye cream that's too rich for your skin you will get the little white bumps called milia, so that's why it's great that these are age formulated since your skin changes with age. I would also recommed the retinol eye capsules or the platinum regeneration rejuvenating eye treatment patches to be used with the regular eye cream for more intense results.
