Well I'm losing to much hair I think! On average I lose about 6 strands for hair each time I wash it plus i lose more hair in- between washes! Why am I loosing so much hair? Or is that normal?

I have long, wavy hair, I don't color treat it or anything like that but I do use hair straighteners and curling irons about twice a week at the most. I'm only 17 so whats the deal? And how can i help this problem?

I would say that is the rate that I lose hair too. I'm 22, and I don't use straighteners.I do use a curling iron a few times a week and I blow dry almost every day (at least now I do, I got my hair cut into a chin-length bob. When my hair was longer I rarely blow-dried).
I don't know...I don't really worry about hair loss. I would be tempted to think that that is the normal rate that people lose hair. I wouldn't really worry about it. But then I am not an expert.

It seems like I lose about ten or so strands every time I wash my hair. I color my hair once a month and use a blow dryer a few times a week. I know I also lose strands when I brush my hair. But I don't have any noticeable thinning or anything.

It's normal to lose 75 to 150 hairs per day(Marianna cosmetology manual). It's being replace with new baby hairs everyday=normal. Guys lose this much as well but its so short it goes doewn the drain or blows away. Long hair seems to come out all at once but its been steady all night and all day -just tangles in with the rest of the long hair till you run your fingers through it. Losing handfuls of hair everyday is a different story-usually because of childbirth recently, chemotherapy, or thyroid imbalance.
