do you return often? I really need to try a product a few times and if I can't get samples, I find that I return about 1/2 the products I buy. I feel a bit guilty sometimes - but if they can't give samples, I have no choice - I really investigate my purchases, but I'm so picky that a lot of the stuff I buy doesnt seem to live up to the hype!

today I'm returning my Chanel Matte Lumiere foundation. I tried Revlon's Custom Creations and I actually like that cheap stuff a lot better (which is saying a lot, because I LOVE Chanel ML!!) I just can't see hanging on to something that I'm not 100% happy with (and the price of Chanel vs Revlon...its an easy decision)

I think it's great that you rtn things that you aren't 100% about. I have a rtn phobia and when I do rtn things, I feel the need to make up some silly excuse, like it was a gift that didn't work (even though I bought it) or that my sister has asked to rtn something on her behalf ( I'm an only child) or that it a duplicate item of something I already have ( when it absolutely isn't). And it's so silly bc a lot of places et you rtn/exchange items which have been used if you aren't 100% satisfied with the product. I read TB's feature on which store have the best rtn policy and I'm hoping that will give me some courage. I have a drawer full of products I spent great money on that I don't love and it all gets donated to friends and my mom so they may enjoy my rtn phobia.

Practically never return stuff - but then again I spend a LOT of time browsing. The times I have had to return stuff though, I find that different shops vary wildly on their policies. I will never be returning anything to Superdrug ever again after the fuss they kicked up (even though the products in question were clearly unopened and hadn't been touched) whereas Body Shop and Boots were both brilliant whenever I needed to return anything.

I'll only return stuff if I absolutely hate the product or a foundation is the wrong shade, which has only been like three times in my life. What I do is kinda weird. I have a drawer full of makeup that I hate and couldn't return called my 'don't ask' drawer, and I stick stuff in there when I don't like it or it doesn't 'fit' with my collection. I just kind of forget about that drawer and go on with my makeup buying. I really should give some of that makeup away or throw it out or something...

I loved Revlon Custom Creation Foundation, I am looking into buying another foundation though and was considering the Chanel Matte Lumiere. Good thing I passed, what didn't you like about it?

it wasnt that I didnt like it. i loved it. and at $11, I liked the Revlon equally. so I returned the chanel foundation at lunch today. i think they had similar finish (powdery finish) but revlon seems to even me out more. i also was thinking about the idea of tanning soon for some weddings (i know, i'm terrible!) and didnt want to have to buy another new foundation - i can just go up on the dial in the revlon!!

I am sheepish about returning things, but I usually ask before I buy if I can return something. It is still difficult for me.

I really don't return stuff. I used to have a really good friend who lived nearby me. We look so much alike that people have thought we were sisters, even twins since middle school. She really didn't have a lot of money, so usually if I didn't like something I gave it to her. Or I tried to get stuff at wal-mart and target that had bonus items so I could give her one. She moved away though, so I don't really have my buddy to give all my old rejects to like I used to. Also, before she moved away she had a baby. It really worked out for her because I was losing weight. I was always one size smaller than her, so she got my "fat" clothes when she gave birth, and then when I was ready to go down a size so was she.

I don't think I've ever returned anything... I'm a little stubborn, I guess, and it's hard for me to do (I'm also very shy and feel weird about returning things).

Tomorrow, though, I have to return something to a MAC counter... they mislabeled the price on a bag I bought, but charged me the full one. What's up with that? I'm just upset I didn't notice before. :(

I also have to exchange a brush. Wish me luck.

Unless a product is obviously defective in some way, I don't return stuff, lol, I've got several girlfriends who fight over my beauty leftovers. I'm going thru my drawers now, I have ..gasp 12 tubes of mascara, all different brands, most unopened!
