I watch this every now and then and I find Josh Green so annoying. Also, does anyone else think that the public is a bit harsh? I realize that it's probably edited and ppl are coached to exaggerate but seriously, most of these people look 5-6 years older (which sucks) but they rarely look 10 years older. Also, the intro where they say, " Could it be the crooked teeth, the upper lip hair and the pitted acne scars..." or whatnot is so brutal but somewhat funny. Although they do a great job and the people end up looking way better, it seems like such a confidence crusher. I cannot imagine standing in a box with ppl looking at me on my best day, so I can't imagine on my worst. Incidentally, I see Jenn MacDonald walking around all the time, she lives near me.

I think the show is somewhat immoral: by all means give them a makeup masterclass, get them a personal trainer, a personal shopper, a decent haircut, whatever, but I think it really overendorses plastic surgery.

And yet I can't stop watching it. Hmm.

I saw the commercials for this and really couldn't get into it. I love makeover shows, but they always seem to exaggerate the bad.

On a positive note, the participants seem to come out with more self-confidence.

Yeah, they do look better but it is a quick fix. I think a trainer, money for a wardrobe and hair would be better than humiliation, one outfit, botox, and veneers. Although, I would be pleased if someone Zoomed my teeth and gave me laser eye correction. Do you remember The Swan and Extreme Makeover? I couldn't watch those! Can you imagine the identity crisis of becoming a completely different person??? Also, I cannot begin to imagine being a child or teenager these days, feeling like plastic surgery is something you have to do if you aren't perfect. I'm 27 and I had a hard time with feeling like I wasn't thin enough in HS even though I was a sz 0/1. Now, it's worse..

I realize I'm just getting in on this conversation months after it was posted, but I just joined and couldn't resist commenting on "10 Years Younger." I think it's great what they do for people, but the public slams the people have to go through to get their help wouldn't be worth it to me. I like "What Not to Wear" much better because they actually teach the people how to improve themselves without being completely ruthless in how they mention the body flaws they are camouflaging.

I actually don't think 10 Years Younger is that bad when it comes to the surgery and reconstructive dentistry. A lot of the people on the show do have skin or teeth in bad condition and that show may be their only change to have those procedures done.

Anyone see the show where the guy's teeth were literally falling apart in his mouth and he and his wife were using superglue to repair his teeth?

I like watching it, but I agree that What Not to Wear is so much better.

I feel the same way. I'm all about looking young and staying young-looking but I want to be able to do it without plastic surgery or even Botox (largely because I'm a pain wimp). Also, do they have to give everyone the Lasik eye surgery? I'm probably one of the few people on earth NOT considering it. I'm happy with my contact lenses.
i still like to watch the show when i can though.

No I'm with you too on the Lasik. I've known of a few people to have bad reactions to it. A friend of my parents actually has to have his redone once every few years because his eyes didn't tolerate it as well. I'm completely happy with contacts and glasses. I can understand if you are like a friend of mine who got it whose eyes couldn't tolerate contacts and his glasses were about 1/2 inch thick...but for most of us contacts really aren't that big of a hassle.
