I am in my mid 30s and I can't seem to get rid of them.

The Biore strips really are dreadful. I also tried some strips made by a company called T-Zone which were just as useless. The best strips I've tried are the Montagne Jeunesse ones, but even then it's quite hit-and-miss.

*listening in* I have horrible blackheads all over my nose, but am afraid to use an extraction tool.

The only time I've had blackheads removed is during a facial. Before that I used Biore, but it doesn't do 1/2 of what a facial does. I'd be too scared to do extractions myself. Facialists steam your face and prep it perfectly so that it's less painful and easier...try a facial if it's affordable...it's the best way to go!

Really, I think the best way is using chemical exfoliators like BHA. It gets down into your pores and clears them out.

I'm also curious and have thought of getting an extraction tool but figured for $20, I'd probably hurt myself and never use it again. Does anyone know what to do about whiteheads? Also, someone told me that people who tend to squeeze pimple and blackheads later get liver spots where they squeezed. I know it's ridiculous and probably completely untrue but like the "chocolate causes pimples myth", it's enough made me think twice. (Not that I do a lot of squeezing anyways. Being half Asian, I'm so scared of scarring my skin)

I don't know of any way to get rid of them, either. They are the bane of my existence. I use salicylic acid twice daily, extraction when I need it, and the occasional Biore strip, which I can't really stand.

This thread just made me remember a lotion I used to use and just went and dug it out. My old facialist recommended this to me when I asked her about blackheads and it works byt there are some downsides. It's Darphin's Lotion Desincrustant, which I know is a tragic name for a product. Yo leave it on the ares you want to clear up while you're asleep. The reason I stopped using this was that it has the consistency of calamine lotion but instead of drying pink, it dries beige so it's visible. Second, it smells kind of earthy. Neither of these things bugged me when I lived alone but since moving in with the BF I felt weird having him wake unext to me with dried, smelly junk in patches on my face. For ppl that don't have that issue, I recommend this.
