The Biore strips work for me, strong enough to even remove minor hairs in the follicle.

I agree with the aesthetician that you first must get a professional facial WITH extractions. Yes, it hurts a little, but is worth it to finally see those suckers gone.

If you can't or won't do this, I recommend a good scrub/micro-dermabrasion step followed with steaming your face to get the pores open, then a clay-type mask to pull all the gunk out. One key is to keep your face very clean, and avoid touching your face.

Using Serious Skin Care's "Continuously Clear" line, I found that the "Clearz-it" acne medication really worked on my blackheads. I was really surprised.
Check out the kits / sets on HSN. com Be sure to moisturize afterward.

In the summer, I use SSC's "A-copper" line, and their "C" line in colder months. Alternate / also use their "A-force" line.

I plug SSC alot, because but for the money, you can't beat it. And I've really gotten RESULTS. Watch HSN, and you'll learn alot when SSC's show is on. (HSN.com for purchasing)

I've spent thousands on skin care products over the years, from Noxzema in the 1960's, to SSC today. (I'm 52 going on 26)-at least my face thinks so....
*LOL*
Today we are lucky that there are so many innovative products on the market that actually do work. When I was a kid there was only Clearasil.

PS: SSC's phone number is 800-540-8662 and I find them very helpful.

I haven't been able to get rid of them, but DHC Deep Cleansing Olive Oil has been the best so far.

The best way to get rid of blackheads and keep them to a minimum is to you a retonal cream. I use Tazorac. My dermatologist says if she could every women over 25 on a retinol product she would. It isgreat for smoothing skin. My skin feels like a baby's butt. I highly recommend Jan marini products too. Expensive but awesome!

I have found the least expansive way to get rid of blackheads is by using an electric/battery-powered toothbrush and exfoliating cleanser.

Don't laugh cuz I have tried and it really worked!!!!

Depends on your skin type, I use the battery-powered baby toothbrush or the regular battery-powered but soft bristles. I spread on the cleanser evenly, then use the toothbrush to scrub my face, pay extra close to the area around my nose and chin.

I prefer doing this once every week, but those who feel the need, do it twice every week.

The toothbrush costs $7 - $8. The cleanser, $10 - $15.

If you prefer, you can use aspirin as cleanser. I prefer Walgreens or Target brand because they break down faster. It costs $0.99

Place 3-4 tablets in a small dish & add 3-4 drops of water on them, just enough for the aspirin to break down. Mash them together and spread evenly on your face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then use the toothbrush to scrub your face.

I have very sensitive skin and I can still do this. Give it a try before going to the pros or pay high price

The motion does work. There is a microderm cream with a facial buffer from Skin Logics. Salycilic acid also works really well. www.beauticontrol.com/lookskintastic Also some kind of mineral makeup. Bare minerals, Beauticontrol, Jane Iredale or mireralique. The mineral makeup will not breed bacteria or spread it on your face. When you use regular base it spreads

funny that so many of us have the same dilemma- blackheads! A few tricks that I have tried and seem to work or at least improve the situation
1) definitely get a facial once in a while- still the best way I think to get all the pores extracted and cleaned out
2) use a product with retinol or AHA/Glycolic acid etc- my dermatologist has told me that for blackheads, this works better than salycic acid/pimple solutions
3) microdermabrasion- this is expensive but if you got it done once in a while- it works wonders for blackheads as it gets rid of a couple of layers of skin and they come right out

Step away from the extraction tool! Those are SO dangerous when they are placed in the wrong hands. In my professional and personal opinion-- if you're taking such drastic measures, you do need to break down and see a skincare professional.

There is a right way and several wrong ways to perform safe extractions! Err on the side of caution. Beta hydroxy acid containing products will help keep pores flushed-- and a professional can make the correct recommendations for you. Keep in mind that your skincare may actually NOT be the problem. Are you wear non-comedogenic cosmetics? All the skincare in the world won't help if you're packing that makeup on right after using all of that great product!

Check your cosmetics, so often it's the culprit. In my many years, it's been the case so often!

very simple, enless you are a professional, don't use extraction tools on yourself or squeeze your blackheads out. i know this sounds funny because we are just talking about skincare but i have often more than once seen my clients damage their skin or caused the acne to spread to other parts of their skin by doing this. try to get a good deep cleaning and practice things that will help to keep your skin clear. like, washing twice a day, not going to bed w/ makeup on, exfloiate once a week, and try to not touch your face. for some people their hands contain more germs and dirt than a bathroom floor.

I had really bad blackheads for awhile, i tried the pore strips like alot of people said, but they only worked the first time. the best way i got rid of then was using a cleanser with little sylicic acid, (you actually agrivate your skin the more of the product you use) go for somthing with .5) and most of all a REALLY REALLY moiturizing moisturizer.
