There's a safe way to squeeze them... it's more like nudging them out instead of pinching. I have the same problem though, it seems like I squeeze them out and within hours they are back!

Every other day I coat my face with a product from Neutrogena for blackheads. It's salyctic acid and clay and it can be a quick mask or daily wash, depends on your skin. I've had good results from it and then GENTLY buffing my skin with a washcloth to make sure I get all of the product rinsed away. It's less effective since I've been wearing full coverage makeup all day, everyday, but I'm really pleased with the results for the price.
Seriously, I went from staring at blackheads between my brows and on my cheekbones from a distance of 3 ft to not being able to notice unless I'm makeup-less and close-up to my lighted mirror. I think the biggest improvement is no more blackhead bumps!They would actually turn into bumps that just screamed "lookey here!"

I like Paula's Choice 2% BHA gel (also comes in a lotion and liquid). BHA = salycic acid, just so you know. Avoid those astringents with alcohol though, they can be very drying.

I recentely started using prescription Duac Gel. It got rid of about 90% of the blackheads on my nose and chin.

I've heard of a treatment they can do at some dermatologist's or skin care clinic offices - I discovered it when I went for microdermabrasion to help with some scarring. Apparently it's treatment just liquefies them! My quote from is "a non-chemical procedure (anaphoresis) which liquefies the hardened sebum making extractions possible with little damaging force to the surrounding skin. This process avoids excessive redness and capillary damage" Sounds interesting... a little extreme, maybe, but I'm definitely going to have to investigate further and report back... Anyone head of/experienced this treatment? Is it a widely available but little-known option?

Oh yeah,I think there's also a process called electro-coagulation that targets all sorts of things like broken capillaries and such that also works for blackheads and whiteheads... anyone have more info?

as an esthetician(skin care specialist) their are very and i mean very little in terms of topical products you can put on for blackheads. think of it as if you have a slinter in your finger, nothing you put on it will help it to come out, you have to just pull it out. blackheads and also whitheads, harden in the skin very fast and 99% of the time can only be helped out by getting a good deep pore cleaning. think of it like this, you should use products that help in preventing them in the first place. wash you face twice a day only, use a toner for your skin, something with salicylic acid, and an oil free moist. never go to be with makeup on and i must say this, only use a scrub twice a week, scrubing your face more will not help, this can make your skin sensitive. final, get a good facial, this really does help.

My husband has this problem, and the only thing we've found that helps are glycolic acid peel pads. They help to keep his pores clear so that blackheads are not able to form, and they seem to help with fine lines too. For a while he was using the Wexler pads from BBW, but at $60 for 30 pads, we decided to seek out a more inexpensive option. Now he's using the Peter Thomas Roth pads (Max Complexion Correction Pads), which seem to be working quite well--and you get twice as many pads for about half the price.
The thing about going this route is that you definitely have to be consistent (as in use them every day)--it's not a quick fix, but it will definitely help in the long term!
