that wouldn't annoy the heck outta me and my glasses. I've tried many mascaras that do nothing but lengthen or nothing at all- I've tried CoverGirl Pro curved brush and Lash exact and remarkable washable waterproof, maybelline lash discovery and Full 'N Soft and Unstoppable and Great lash, L'oreal Voluminous...these all have also smudged/flaked...I just wear mascara (and lip stuff) and so any drugstore mascara reccommendations that don't smudge/flake,but CAN volumize/thicken and curl would be great!

have you tried ardell's lash accelerator? i know it's not mascara, but it could make your lashes appear darker. i love shiseido's mascara base. it's about $20 but worth it. also look for a mascara base to reduce the flakes. hope this helps

I'm on the same mission! I wear glasses too and always get black streaks on them when I wear mascara. I'd love to get high end stuff, but can't afford $20 on mascara. There's so many different brands and varieties within brands I can't try them all out.

In this month's Consumer they list Max Factor Lash Perfection Volume Conture. I thought I would recognise the picture, got there, thought it was Maybelline so spent $10 for nothing. Finding a good mascara is a task. My sister loves the one in the bright yellow case. Don't remember who it is by. Will get this as soon as I get out. There were also several others. Maybelline define a lash volume, Cover Girl volume exact and L'Oreal telescopic clean definition and lightening and lengthening.

I tend not to trust magazine recommendations, since they get money for advertising things. I'm currently using Cover Girl Super Thick Lash. My last mascaras were Neutrogena Healthy Volume and Maybelline Great Lash. None impressed me, and the Neutrogena brush was way too big. The Cover Girl is okay, it provides adequate thickness, but still smudges my glasses.

i kno u said that u want a drugstore brand mascara, but honestly mascara is something that u would want to invest a little bit more money in bc its very important. if you think about it, ur eyes are what people look at when their talking to u ..and u want them to look really good...dior blackout or any from clinique are really good. the mascaras from mac are a little cheaper..and i heard they were really good as well.

You shouldn't invest too much money in a mascara, as you have to throw it out in like 3 months.

My friend sells avon and I try to support her when I can. I found a mascara that I really like, it's the uplifting mascara and it runs $8.50 retail, but they always seem to have sales. Her site is http://stefaniemcdaniel.avonrepresentative.com/ if anyone is interested. I think you can usually find free shipping codes too (I found a code FSANY that should work).

I had an obsession to trying to find the right mascara. My eyelashes are short but more on the shorter side (not to short though) so i look for length formulas. I look no more though after discovering Max Factor stretch and seperate. I can't get enough of this product. It relly delivers and has the best quality i've seen in drugstore makeup.

Try L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Black or Carbon Black. I have long eyelashes as it is, but it REALLY extends them and gives them volume. They make waterproof, or non waterproof - I actually get the non waterproof in Carbon Black. It is less than $7, so you can't really beat it, and it usually ends up lasting me a long time - and I am a mascara junkie. If I am going out at night, I usually apply like 3 coats, just to get it really thick and drastic, but even after 1 coat, you can see the length difference.
