Hi, I hope this I haven't duplicated anyone's thread (sorry if I have) but I'm wondering if there are any products that you simply will not splurge on. I find that after using Benefit, Dior, Lancome and many expensive mascaras, my all time fave is L'Oreal Voluminous. Actually, I bought a new one yesterday and they now how have a clump free formula with a new brush. I paid $7.50 as opposed to over $20. And since they say mascara should be replaced every 3 months, I think it's worth it.

The products, I always splurge on however, are skin care, eye shadows, compacts and blushes. Don't know if it's worth it but I have a horrible habit of thinking they're better if they cost more, which I know is downright stupid and silly and I need to break the habit!

I think it really depends on the product. I have found some great $2 eyeshadow and some great $20 eyeshadow. I splurge and save on all types of make-up, all that matters to me is that I like the product and the place I bought it from has a great return policy if I don't.

I'd definitely prefer to spend more on skincare or foundations than lipsticks or eye shadows.

I feel that if my skin doesn't look good, nothing else will =(

But that's not to say I haven't splurged on my Chanel Glossimers when others have argued that drugstore glosses are just the same ;-)

I just read an article where Carmindy talks about which products are made with all the same ingredients and she lists lip gloss yet I still go out and buy a Stila lip glaze, knowing full well that the glosses in the drug store which cost $15 less are the exact same! Why??!! It's so pointless and such a waste!

Well, part of it is just the fun and fabulosity of it. It's nice being able to pull a Chanel Glossimer out of your purse, even if you know that the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss is just as good. ;-)

I skimp on mascara, definitely. Almost all of my mascaras are from the drugstore.

Maybe Ladybug has it right: fabulosity! Kind of like wearing D&G sunglasses versus Foster Grants. I do put my dollars toward skincare, except Olay Regenerist, and buy mascara and some glosses on the cheap.

Chanel glossimers certainly do have a fabulousity factor and I love them not only because it's Chanel, but because I love the formulas!

I have a wide range of glosses from every price point so it's really not too bad for me to have a Glossimer or two, right??? ;-)

That's right. Part of having fun with make up is splurging and treating yourself!

2nd the mascaras. I have not spent more than $10 on a mascara in years. I also skimp on lip glosses and nail polishes.

Things that I would splurge on:

Skincare Products
Foundations
Brushes

I actually think I skimp out on skincare more, but that's probably cause I'm fairly young and dont have too many issues I have to deal with. I'm all about the Aveda skincare. I have a weakness for MAC though, most of my lipglosses and eyeshadows are from there .
