    CARGO Bronzer

    Good Pick

Uh I agree with everyone else on this one. I love that the glitter isnt overpowering, as we cant all be on camera, it's a great everyday subtle bronzer that accentuates without making you look like a shiny mess Lol. The dark is actually quite nice for dark skin too, but here in canada you can get it cheaper at The Bay then in Sephora, as they still havent adjusted to the high Canadian Dollar.

  • Astara Blue Flame Purification Mask

I bought this and to be honest intially I loved it but then my oily skin would get really irritated, which is so rare for me as I can usualy beat me skin up and it bounces back, Lol. But after a few weeks, I actually think with all the menthol/orange oil etc ingredients my skin jus thad enough, Natural doesn't necessarily mean better and natural oils can still be very irritating. I did like it as a spot treatment though, but if I found it irritating I cant imagine what it would do to sensitive skin. Plus washing off the blue mask is a bit of a hassle as it's quite thick, and there could be more product in the packaging.

    Aveda Inner Light Loose Powder

Do Not be Fooled by the Teak it's for everyone

OKAYYYY so I was sooooooooooooo happy to find this product . #1 it's inexpensive.. I paid $40 and I've had it for a year and haven't even hit half yet. #2 I use the TEAk which is a yellow based almost translucent powder, and it's amazing, Most makeup should have some amount of yellow in them to be really good foundations for the majority of skin hues and where you cant find it in foundation, you've got the correction in this powder. Becuase a light brush and you no longer look grey or super dooper pink.. and a little goes a really long way. It's reaally light but true yellow powder that works especially well on dark skin tones, And I say that because even when dark skin tones find good foundations, the powders always seem to be less well formulated ( EVEN known ones like Basic Brown from Bobbi Brown) and tend to be pink/reddish undertones basically ruining all of the work of your foundation...But this is definitely a winner, and also pretty economical, I Got all my friends on it, and it's crazy that beign from all different backgrounds/skin tones we can use the same Loose Powder =)

  • Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45

Sooo I've found a best friend in this product, It's great for all skin types ( no really i mean it, i'm crazy acne prone and I love it), does exactly waht it says and I've been reading everywhere how effective it is.. apparently one of the best broad spectrum UVA protection products ever... and it's not even gonna cost you an arm and a leg. I use SPF 45, but my main concern being of an OPRAH complexion is that sunscreen/sunblock products are difficult to wear on dark skins as they show they're blue tint ( due to the zinc) and it's hard to wear with makeup and not asthetically appealing, but this my sisters is AMAZING, 45 spf and not a hint of blue, with a smidgen of powder on top and coudl see no gray overcast. Honestly it's a saviour and i'll reccommend it to anyone.

  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream Night

Okay first off this is a really well made product. There's a pretty good amt of retinol and Green tea in it and a great moisturizing base.. How do i Know? I read the ingrediants list and the potency is listed in order. I used this product while being on accutane ( befoer I could use prescription retinoids) and it was awesome, my skin started to become more even and seemed like it was retaining more water, so it was smoother and healthier looking. And i've been on accutane before so I know it wasnt just the drug. This product is best for those that dont mind waiting longer than a prescription would take, but it's worth it. Especially if prescription retinoids dont agree with your skin. It's probably one of the best over the counter retinoids I've seen mainly because it also contains an antioxidant like green tea which also helps with sun damage/photosynthesis... I personally think the SPF version is better because theere's not point in using retinoids without sunscreen but you can still use it in conjunction with an SPF product of any kind.

  • SkinCeuticals Clarifying Clay Masque

So I thought this little jar wouldn't last very long, but like the previous reviewer said what SKinceuticals lacks in cost makes up for in value for this product. I've noticed that a little goes along way, and the product is not a heavy mask but it works just the same, my favorite part is that when it dries it's hard and flaky which makes it easy to wash off... It combine Clay and Fruit Acids, nowwwww I think they could've usid actually Low ph BHA & AhA's instead for the cost the mask as they're more effective, but without them it makes this product a good buy for even sensitive skins. As for results, I really like how it tightens my pore appearance and over the last 2 months, I havent had a breakout again. It's also not too bad as a spot treatment and doesn't leave your skin too dry. It is pricey though and there are better masks out there in terms efficacy , but if you like the line it is a worthy buy.

    SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic

Very Effective, Packaging needs some work

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. Intially I was worried the oily consistency would cause Acne ( which I'm quickly prone to) but it hasnt for the last 3 months and this is one product that lives up the hype.. I'm of a darker complexion so getting rid of scars and seeing noticeable differences takes a lot more patience, but this totally works. And the oily consistency only lasts for a moment but after absorbed by your skin it's pretty matte and makes my skin look great under makeup. Not only does it lift scars but it's reported to improve the efficacy of Sunscreens as well. I also have no problems using it interchangeably with Prescription Retinoids and Salicylic acid products. Buttt my only concern is the packaging, due to the fact that it's open to he air it may change the efficacy of the product over time, as L-asorbic acid is very unstable.. and the amount of $$$ it costs it would suck if half the time I use the product it's lost it's ability to do the things I bought it for. An Airtight container would be a great way to make this product even better. ;)

  • SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser

I've been using this cleanser for the last 3 months, and I found it to be pretty potent. My skin is very tolerable, but for sensitive skins this may be too harsh/irritable. It contains Salicylic Acid and a low PH but that only works if it's left on for a long time. So I sometimes use it as a 5 Min Mask to make sure it begins to exfoliate my skin, and it's helped to clear my blackheads pretty well. It does make your face a little dry, but the best thing is that a little goes a long way as it lathers quite well, so about a NIckel's size is all I use. On the down side it's a pretty expensive cleanser, when Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash's are virtually the same product for half the price and more variety of consistencies...

  • Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Even Finish Foundation SPF 15
    9.0

Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Even Finish Foundation SPF 15

One of the best Oil-Free Foundations

I swear everything says its Oil-Free these days. But this is one of the only products that stands by that statment. This foundation has a large range of colors. I've been using the 7.5 Warm Almond for the last 5 years. And I still havent found a better match and texture out there. The foundation is in a glass bottle..with beautiful glossy black packaging. Once opened you can see the foundation is pretty much full to the top. When applying I alternate between a wedge and a foundation brush.... for a lighter application I wet the wedge and apply and for more precise application (to get those hard to reach areas) I use a foundation brush. By itself ( I usually use it with a primer, which helps for acne prone skin) it goes on pretty easily....immediately I can see my face is not going to be left shiny and you can see the color is pretty richly pigmented which makes this a pretty good medium coverage.. and up to full depending on the powder you happen to use. Witha really great yellow undertone.. it may go on a little heavy at first but the art to this product is the blending.. which I find easier to do with the wedge.. Starting at the middle of the face blend outwards so you have a balnce of the makeup ( remember your hairline is naturally darker..so you'll get a more natural finish).. What's great too is you can layer this foundation really welly ... apply foundation set with poweder and then you can do it again for more coverage!... I like that it covers my skin but still letting it breath and giving my a really natural finish.. neither dewy or too matte.. You actually get a lot of foundation in this bottle it lasts me awhile and i use my makeup everyday. ... the downside is its pricey like all the Bobbi Brown products..and althought she has a color range thats very aware and great undertones in her makeup... the next color is a 8 Walnut and I found it to be extremely dark/red in comparison.. which is a huge jump... So u may have to mix and match to find your color. But you pay for quality.. an addition to make it oil free and noncomodegenic would be extra wonderful!! But it's still my favorite Liquid foundation on the market.

  • La Roche-Posay Ceralip Lip Repair Cream

La Roche-Posay Ceralip Lip Repair Cream

    Help for Accutane Users

Life saver. That's what this product should be re-named as. Cause it saved me throught my Accutane 6 months of hell. ;) So if you've never heard of accutant, let me give you a brief introduction. Accutane is an oral Retinol that kills sever acne from the inside out.. and works at clearing acne forever w/in a 6mnth period for 70% of it's users.. the only thing is is literraly dries out your body and one of the most common side effects is Inflammation/chapping of your lips. Now imagine have your lips blistering red and peeling and hurting for 6mnths straight. Thats where ceralip came in. Recommended by my dermatologist (actually I see La Roche in almost ALL the dermatology buildings I've been in..weird right?) and it is non waxy/ non greasy and helped me to combat my annoying and sometimes painful syptoms. It slid on easy and stayed on for half the day!!! And it even helped with the swelling/tingling i felt on my lips. It's a cloudy-clear color.. a little goes a long way.. and it lasts for along time. A little pricy at 20.00 a tube. But it's well worth it.
