Disney Takes Down Their "Sexy" Version of the "Brave" Princess

I have tried countless exfoliating scrubs, but this one is by far my favorite. What's unique about it is that it's a gel scrub AND mask with three different types of exfoliation. Cleanse your face and remove makeup prior to using this twice a week! The first level of exfoliation is your physical scrub. You feel the microscrub and jojoba beads slough off dead skin as you scrub your face (with a quarter size amount) vigorously for about a minute. I LOVE that this scrub doesn't have big seeds which can damage my skin like apricot seeds. Then you leave it on for 2-5 minutes depending on whether your skin is more sensitive or normal. The second level of exfoliation is your chemical peel. Glycolic acid gently peels off the top layers of the skin to reveal a much smoother, clearer complexion. The third level of exfoliation is your enzymatic peel which fruit enzymes digest all that dead skin and the fruit extracts inject precious anti-oxidants to neutralize free radicals which cause premature aging. In addition to the intensive, yet gentle exfoliation, you also get a dose of sweet almond, apricot and mango oils which nourish the skin with moisture. As part of the Laser-Free line, this scrub also contains a dose of Dragon's Blood which is derived from a tree in the amazon. It's a potent extract which repairs damage cells, improves skin tone and texture, but also strengthens baby cells to make your skin more resilient. What I LOVE about this scrub and mask is that it delivers several different levels of exfoliation and repair which have DRAMATICALLY improved the tone, texture, clarity, brightness, and firmness of my skin. I am actually on my third bottle since this product came out this year (I use it twice a week religiously) and I honestly don't think anything can come close to it (apart from going to a dermatologist for a pricey professional peel). One of the things I LOVE to do with this is use it on my body in the shower because I get the softest, smoothest skin I have ever had. Also, I love to use this prior to using a Brazilian Peel once a month which allows the Peel to penetrate deeper and reveal more radiant, smoother skin. For 38 dollars, it can be a bit pricey compared to other scrubs, but this scrub is simply to die for. A tube goes a LONG way, and the benefits are simply worth it. It's not just a scrub and a mask, but it's also peel and a skin care treatment. With so many benefits, the price is worth it.

First off, don't expect this product to dry your nails in seconds. I will dry the top layer of the polish quicker, but don't expect it to set your nails perfectly in a flash. However, it does make a difference. I have nails that are kind of dark (I have medium skin), so it takes about three coats of polish color, along with the base and top coat to finish my manicure. That's FIVE layers. I even use Seche Vite (which is my favorite top coat EVER because it really speeds up the time of drying the polish). Sometimes I just want to cut down my total dry time by a few minutes (which makes a difference to me!) I bunch all of my nails together and give it 1-2 sprays on each hand and this does help to cut down total drying time by a couple of minutes. It also seems to help further seal the top coat and it doesn't dry up my cuticles or skin around my nails. It dries up and evaporates fairly quickly too so as soon as your hand is dry, it likely has taken full effect. This is GREAT for pedicures, because I don't know if you're like me, but do you ever do your toes and move to your hands, but you completely become distracted with your manicure that you don't realize that your feet have been all over the place and you ruin your pedicure? This does a good job at drying that faster. I'm quite convinced of this product because it does actually seem to work on a realistic level.

I had very high hopes for this base coat after everyone I know was raving about this. Let me start with the things I did like. First off, I like the nude color of this, so even if you don't plan on painting your nails with color, this is a good color to use to get that even sheer nude look for a clean manicure. Secondly, I think this did fill in ridges for a smoother look, even after buffing your nails. Third, polish does seem to go on smoother, and it seems I need only two coats of a color, rather than three coats like I normally need with most polishes. Fourth, I did feel that it lived up to its word of covering imperfections like peeling nails. Other than that, it's not a very good base coat for me. Within HOURS of painting my nails, the tips were already chipping off. At least with my other base coats, I could get through a whole day or two without my edges looking worn and rough! I even had quick edge chipping on my nails that I usually barely see any chipping after several days. Look, I KNOW how to do my nails, so there's no excuse as to why this should be chipping so quickly, other than it being a poor product. This did help seal peeling nails, but since this base coat caused my polish to chip so easily, the peeling nails were quickly exposed which defeats the purpose. I'm sure that this base coat would work better on other Butter polish colors, but let's get real. How many of us actually have 14+ dollars to buy ONE shade, let alone the entire line! Most of us have nail polishes of other brands. I'm not afraid to splurge on big-name polishes. I tried this with Essie, OPI, China Glaze, Zoya, etc. and this base coat didn't work as well as my usual base coat. I need a base coat that is going to work with ALL of my polishes, not just its own brand. Therefore, I'm going to return this. I feel very disappointed. It's 18 at Ulta and you do get a lot for the price you pay, but honestly, you can find a better base coat that works well for most brands for half of the price.

Burberry fragrances are a hit or miss with me. When this fragrance came out, I fell in love with it and I always found myself spraying strips of paper and taking those with me to keep smelling. It's a light fruity-floral with base notes of vanilla. It [normally] smells delicious. I work with fragrances and have to wear a uniform, so I would always spray myself with this over my clothes. The time came when I finally bought a bottle of this (the biggest one, lol). I do love the bottle; it's beautiful. Then came the biggest disappointment of them all--actually spraying it on my skin. YES, I did spray a little on my wrists to smell it on me, and it smelled fine. However, I sprayed it on the rest of my body and something awful happened. It took a few days for me to figure it out (because we are so used to our scent and out of tune with how we might really smell to others), but I realized that this actually made me smell HORRIBLE. It smelled like body odor on me, like I hadn't showered in a couple of days. Too my horror of realizing this, I just had to return it. It's such a shame that my love affair with this fragrance turned into a nightmare. I'm the kind of person where almost all fragrances wear well, or wear okay. But I have NEVER had a fragrance smell this bad on my skin. I wish I could have just kept it for the bottle alone, but I didn't want to waste my money on a scent that I can create myself after a day at the gym (body odor).

Burberry fragrances are either a hit or miss with me, but I quite like this one! It's very feminine, very light, with light florals and a hint of powdery notes. What I like best about this is that the powdery notes don't smell overwhelming like in most fragrances; it's quite light, but still smells slightly fresh. This is a great fragrance to wear during the day if you don't want to overpower the entire room and don't want to smell offensive, so it's great for the office. Unfortunately, it doesn't last a very long time. It is a light floral, which those never tend to last as long. Therefore, if you want to keep the scent going throughout the day, you will need to respray yourself a few times every few hours. I do like this because it's just a light and delicate scent that is one of the most feminine in my mind.

I have been working with fragrances for some time and my nose has developed a preference for some notes and a total hatred for other notes. LaVanilla fragrances uses vanilla in every fragrance in their line (other fragrances incorporate fruit or floral in them like Vanilla Coconut, Vanilla Blackberry, Vanilla Lavender, etc). But what I love about LaVanilla is that it uses REAL vanilla in it. It's not artificial vanilla which MOST fragrances tend to use. After smelling so many fragrances with vanilla, and then comparing them to LaVanilla fragrances, you definitely notice the difference in how it smells. For some reason, the real vanilla tends to wear a little better on you. It just doesn't smell as overwhelming, it's just right. My favorites in the line are the Vanilla Grapefruit and the Vanilla Blackberry. Try them out! Then if you like the fragrances, take a look at their full product line such as natural deodorants, lip glosses, body lotions, etc.

It sounds quite biased, but I am not a fan of Ralph Lauren fragrances! I can't think of a single one that I like (because I don't like any). I work with fragrance, and I'm always getting people who are in love and completely loyal to this. However, it's just not my cup of tea. Somewhat similar to Light Blue (in the light fresh flora family, and another one I do not like), it just doesn't wear well on me! It has everything to do with personal preferences, but even if I do smell this on a strip of paper, I just don't like the way it smells. I'm just going to have to stick with Acqua di Gioia for my summer fragrance!

I have a love/hate relationship with Dior fragrances. Some smell gorgeous and wear well on anyone, but there are others that only wear well on certain people even though it smells horrible on a strip of paper. I'm not the biggest fan of the poison family, but I really like Hypnotic Poison the best! First off, it's a very spicy, but still slightly sweet fragrance. It is very full bodied, so wear very little of it as to not overpower the room. I remembered the first time I smelled this on a strip of paper at Sephora, I had a reaction that I had never had before with other fragrances; I remembered my eyes involuntarily rolled back a little (sounds soooo weird, but it's true!). I didn't know what to think of it at first because it's such a strong scent, but the longer the scent developed, the more I liked it. I tried it on my skin and it surprisingly wore well with my body chemistry. This is a fragrance that I think goes well on a date, if you want to make a lasting impression and catch the attention of your date. It's very sexy and sensual and it lasts quite a long time since it's a spice fragrance (as opposed to florals or citruses which don't wear very long). I sound like a broken record by now, but I cannot stress how much you need to know not to spray too much of this! I spray a little on my wrists (then try to dab my neck with my wrists) and one or two sprays on my clothing. I think the name "Hypnotic Poison" describes this scent quite well.

This is a great fragrance to have around the Holidays when we are reminded of warm baked goods. To be honest, the holidays are the only time of year that I wear this because it is a warm, spicy and full bodied scent. This works beautifully if you also get the body wash and lotion to layer this with the fragrance; that way you get a longer lasting scent on you. If you like rich vanilla then this is for you. It is much pricier than getting the body spray, but the body spray doesn't last nearly as long. Since this is a spice fragrance, it does last longer than lighter fragrances such as florals or citruses.

Of all the Classic Philosophy fragrances, Pure Grace is my favorite scent. It is known as the quintessential Soap and Water scent. If you LOVE that super clean soapy scent, then this is perfect for you; it's very crisp. Any shower cream/gel from Philosophy is always a winner because it doesn't dry my skin or irritate it because I have eczema and sensitive skin. Then, you can layer the scent with the body lotion for that longer-lasting clean scent. This is the perfect scent for summer time when most of us don't fair very well in the heat and worry a little bit more about how we smell if we get sweaty. I do like the packaging because it's adorable (I kept the ribbon). The thing I don't really like too much is the price. It's 32 dollars for mini sizes of the shower cream and the lotion. Yes, the classic Philosophy scents cost more for full sizes, but I don't think I get the value of what I'm paying for at 32 dollars. I would like to expect a little more bang for my buck.
