    Lush Soap

    Eh...not worth it

I received a LUSH soap and bath bomb for Christmas in one of their specialty gift arrangements. I haven't used the bath bomb so I don't know how that rates but the soap is in a word "okay". It's really nothing special besides the fun shape, smell and colors they used to make it. I know for a fact that the ingredient used to keep all soap in its shape is drying so that alone is a reason why I never use bar soap but since it was a gift and I had it in the bathroom, I used it nonetheless. The smell of the one I received was sort of bubblegum and fruit mixed together, which I did not like at all. It was in a star shape which was difficult to use to wash my body/shave my legs. Plus, it only lasted about a weeks worth of uses. I've been into a LUSH store before and I know these soaps aren't cheap so the cost per use ratio makes this soap an expensive choice. It's really not worth it so I'll just stick to drugstore body washes

Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Cleansing Wash

    The best cleanser I've used

I tried this cleanser on a recommendation from another beauty product review site and I couldn't be happier. It's super lightweight and fragrance-free, a good option for those with sensitive skin or really any skin for that matter. Other reviewers have stated that it completely removes their eye make-up but I've found myself using a separate make-up remover since it doesn't wash everything off for me (which might be due to the amount of eye make-up I use...). But that is minor and doesn't bother me one bit. Other creamy cleansers have felt heavy on my skin and actually made me feel dirtier rather than cleaner and the clear-type cleansers just dry my skin out. This is hands-down one of the best drugstore cleansers I've used and I hope they don't discontinue it because I'll be a user for life.

    MAC Technakohl Liner

    My go-to liner

This is my go-to eyeliner when I can afford it. It's a bit pricey for the amount you get, considering it only lasts me about a month or 2, if used daily. I love that it goes on smoothly and stays all day with no smudging or raccoon eyes. I always opt for graphblack (black) since I prefer to save color impact for my eyeshadow. I'm currently using a Maybelline brand eyeliner that closely rivals this one and is half the price so if money is a factor, I would search out a cheaper alternative.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

    The best of the best

After purchasing the MAC Mineralize fluid foundation years ago and not liking it, I returned to the MAC counter in search of a replacement. The girl directed me to the StudioFix fluid and told me it would be a better fit for me, which it indeed was. I've tried other foundations but I've always returned to this one. I know it's a bit pricey, but you just can't beat the amazing coverage and quality. I believe that choosing the right foundation is solely based on your skin type. I know this foundation might not work for some, but I think that may be due it being the wrong choice for their skin. That's why the Mineralize did not work for me. I have slightly dry skin with an oily T-zone, so this works for me just fine. I've lived with the fact that no foundation will ever work for my oily T-zone so once I got past that and accepted it, I stopped searching for a miracle foundation that would "do it all". I always layer this foundation with MACs compact powder and the combination is as close to perfect as I can get.

  • Pantene Pro-V Normal-Thick Hair Solutions Silkening Detangler

I've been using this product for years, even before Pantene changed their whole packaging and marketing outlook and it's been a mainstay in my bathroom since. After I've washed my hair and stepped out of the shower, it's the first product I use. I spray it on my hair and wait a few minutes and then brush it through. It works beautifully every time to make brushing my hair a lot easier and a lot less painful. I've always been of the mind that detangler is necessary anytime you've stepped out of the shower with wet hair (whether it's been shampooed/conditioned or not..). I've just never found it easy to brush my hair without it. It may be due to the fact that my hair is long and always has been but something about yanking a brush through my tangled wet hair makes me wince in pain. This is the only detangler I've come across that isn't geared towards children - no fruity strawberry or watermelon scent with cartoon sea creatures depicted on the bottle. I haven't exactly searched out any other brands but that's not really necessary if this works just fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
