The Revlon Lustrous Color Crème lipstick is… underwhelming. Maybe it’s because I only have one color (477 Black Cherry), and I got it when I was trying to do the dark lip thing which really didn’t work on me – I look like a little girl playing with mommy’s makeup HAHA… but I was really disappointed with it. I experienced major feathering, and I’m not that old only 31 so I don’t have tons of lines through my lips! The color is pretty, it’s easy to layer as it goes from not sheer but subtle with one swipe, to opaque with 2 or super duper dark with 3 applications, and it’s a really nice dark wine color with deep purple undertones, but again it just wasn’t the quality I thought it was going to be. I end up using it for blush more than lipstick. I actually don’t know if I’ll ever wear it as lipstick again actually. Now – applied as a cream type blush, it’s phenomenal!

This product does exactly what it says it does. I love the smell, the feel, and the end result. I felt like it cleansed my hair thoroughly, while also moisturizing it, and gave it much more shine than I expected. I will keep using this for sure!

This lipstick is ok. It doesn’t feel too thick, and has a nice smooth silky slip to it. I do notice that it is a little softer than some other lipsticks and you have to be careful not to press too hard or extend it too far out of the case or it will break easily. If you use a brush to apply it you don’t have to worry about this. I have it in U423 “Rouge Red” which I think is a shade they no longer carry, and that’s fine because on the website and even at first glance in person it looks like it’s supposed to be a true blue-red but it’s not. It has more of a bright, dark pink hue with one application, and you have to layer it pretty heavily to get it to look RED. And at that point it starts to get to be too much on your lips. However, it is highly pigmented, so if the color is what you want, it’s great. I actually use it as a blush and for that I love it. Long lasting and moisturizing!

This lipstick is a must. I absolutely love it. It goes on with a good balanced amount of slip and adherence. I might like a little less drag, but given that it lasts 6+ hours on me I think that’s a trade off I’m willing to take. It feels slightly thick but still soft and smooth once applied. I have not seen any feathering any time I’ve worn it. The only color I have it in is 800 (Fairest Nude) and it’s a really good neutral. A little brown, a little pink, and not too cool. The color is creamy and opaque, and has the perfect amount of pigment to it. The one complaint I have, and I’m not sure if this is all the lipsticks in the Colour Riche line or just this color, as it’s the only one I have, but there is a weird bitterish aftertaste and very very faint unpleasant chemical smell. I would like to try it in other colors.

This lipstick, which is one of – if not THE – cheapest ones you can get out there, at drugstores and elsewhere, is an amazing deal for the price – usually only 99c! It goes on smooth and silky (as the name indicates!), and then lasts a good 4 hours on me. While it may not have super-hydrating ingredients like some higher end lipsticks, it still does a great job my lips feel soft and moisturized. The two colors I love most right now are Dark Pink Frost (502A) and Breeze (547B). I also have Pink Frost, Light Beige Frost, Black Orchid, Dark Wine and Fuchsia Ice. Those last 3 I actually like to use as a cream blush! It lasts even longer than powder and I like how it gives my cheeks not only lasting color but a hint of shimmer as well. This is a product that I will continue to use for a long time!

The strawberry face scrub from Mario Badescu was a major disappointment. And that’s an understatement. When I see the word “scrub” on something, I expect it to do just that: SCRUB. Now don’t get me wrong, if this were labeled anything else, maybe a “cream cleanser” or even just a moisturizer (minus the annoying strawberry seeds) I could go with that. But for a scrub – it sucked! First off, the strawberry seeds just kind of slip around in the cream, they don’t exfoliate your skin at all. Second off, if they do happen to come in contact with sensitive skin or a dry patch, they sort of tear at it which is painful. I will admit that my skin is probably more sensitive than most so taking that into consideration, maybe for some people it would be fine. But the seeds are way too big to be gentle on your skin, and too few and far between to really have any actual impact. Now that I’ve complained about this product as a scrub, now for the positive stuff: I will say, I did like the smell. It was a little artificial, didn’t smell like real actual strawberries, but still it is pleasant and soothing. I like the texture of the cream part of this product, it had a nice slip to it without being slimy, and it felt smooth and creamy on my face. I felt like it moisturized my face while I was using it as well, which is always a great bonus. Again, if this were a moisturizer or cleansing cream I would be enthralled with it. The one thing that might be a minor drawback though, is that after I was done (I used it in the shower in case I got strawberry seeds in my hair, which some people have experienced) and I rinsed it off, my face felt a little irritated. It might be that there is some chemical or enzyme in it that was just a little too strong for me. But I am giving it 5 stars because if it were a cream cleanser, I would probably use it.

To address the Aloe Lotion from Mario Badescu – I really wasn’t sure what it was at first. I had requested a sample package from them a while ago, just got it yesterday, and wow did they send me a lot of stuff! I couldn’t wait to use all of it, especially since they had customized it specifically to my skin care needs and my personal skin issues. But this one product in particular confused me a bit. The label says it is “lotion”, but the directions tell you to use it basically the same as you would a toner. I don’t know why they can’t just label it as the product is intended to be used… anyway, moving on. I decided to go through the whole gamut of the beauty routine and use a little bit of everything. After I cleansed with the Enzyme Cleanser, I swiped a bit of the Aloe Lotion over my face. I did really like how gentle it felt on my skin, which tends to be extremely sensitive. I don’t normally use a toner of any kind because they are always too harsh, and my face gets as red as a tomato most the time if I even try, so believe me, I was quite hesitant to use this one. But I figured what the heck, one time won’t kill me, and this is a great brand with superb products. I love that it did not irritate my skin one bit, there was no sign of redness. It left my skin feeling even softer, and even more cleansed but still not dry or tight. The smell is again, really nice, soft and fresh and cool, like it came directly from an aloe plant or something. I would definitely use this again, which says a lot for me. Great product!

I really liked the Enzyme Cleansing Gel from Mario Badescu! I had requested a sample package from them a while ago, just got it yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised at the multitude of products I received samples of and couldn’t wait to use it. Last night I went through the whole package and used a little bit of every single item! I do have sensitive skin, so I was a little hesitant about using things that aren’t in my normal routine, but I’m glad I did this time. The Cleansing Gel was first, and I was immediately struck by the fact that even though it doesn’t foam, it really got my skin super clean but did not leave it feeling tight or stripped or irritated at all, which are common complaints I often have with other cleansers. And despite how gentle it is on skin, it actually got every trace my makeup off, even my mascara! It does also have a very pleasant smell, as is something I’ve noticed with many of the Mario Badescu products. I like the fresh green scent, it reminds me of aloe as another person mentioned in their review. After massaging it all over my face, and then rinsing off, I did notice that my face actually felt a little smoother, which I would not doubt at all has to do with the enzymes clearing off dead skin cells from the surface of my skin. Amazing! Once I was done rinsing, I was even more impressed. Normally when I use a cleanser I feel like I need to immediately slather my face in moisturizer because it feels dry. Not so with this one! I actually felt like I could have been done with my routine at that point, my face was still naturally moisturized, and it felt soft and smooth. So ultimately, I’d say this is a hit!

This product, the Flower & Tonic Mask from Mario Badescu, was just what I needed yesterday. I had requested a sample package from them a while ago, just got it yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised at the multitude of products I received samples of. I couldnt wait to use it! The last few days my skin had been feeling super congested, as well as dry and flaky. I was a little worried that doing a mask would suck too much moisture out of my face, but given the bumps and gunk I felt building up, I decided the risk was worth it. Besides, it’s Mario Badescu – this stuff is amazing! I decided to use all the products I got and have a sample-spa-at-home day! After using the enzyme cleanser, aloe lotion, and strawberry scrub, I slathered on the Flower and Tonic Mask. The first thing that struck me was how nice it smelled. The aroma is very clean and organic, with a nice green herbal undertone. Applying it to my face was super easy, it had just the right amount of slip to spread it easily and yet it did not feel slimy at all. It isn’t super thick, so I did have to add a bit extra here and there to really get a good coat on the areas I wanted deep cleansing action. It started to dry very quickly, which is another thing I liked. How many times have you put on a mask and 20 minutes later it still doesn’t feel like it’s dry??? I swear I could feel the clay pulling crap out of my face as it dried. After a good 12 minutes (I was impatient and could not wait the whole 20 minutes they recommend), I rinsed it off. Here’s my only complaint: for some reason, this seems to happen with all masks for me, it doesn’t fully pull the gunk out of my face. I feel like the mask actually gets deep into the pores and pulls stuff up to the surface, but then it doesn’t come out. So tonight I’m going to do a mild glycolic acid peel and some light exfoliation, hopefully that will get rid of the crud surface. But that aside, overall I really liked this!

I recently started using Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality Shampoo after getting it for free with coupons and ECB from CVS (gotta love that!) and I love this shampoo! The smell is very nice, it is similar to the instantly recognizable Pantene smell we know so well, but there are also some fresh green undertones that smell very organic. Which makes sense, since it is part of this new line that’s supposed to be better for the earth since Pantene states that they “come in bottles made with up to 59% plant-based plastic”. Great idea! When I first bought this, I was torn between Moisture Balance and Smooth Vitality, especially since after I read all the ingredients they both looked about the same! But I went with Smooth Vitality because my hair seems like it’s been dry and brittle lately, probably because of the winter and lack of natural humidity in the air. Just so you understand, the way I take care of my hair might be a little different than most, so I’ll explain: the first thing I do is put conditioner in my hair, and let it sit in my hair and scalp for the duration of my shower while I wash up, shave, exfoliate, etc. Then after all that, I comb the conditioner through with a wide-toothed comb and then rinse it out as thoroughly as I can. THEN and only then will I apply shampoo. After that I rinse with ACV, and then rinse that out with cool water. Basically what I get with this method is a deep condition almost every time, which leaves my hair super silky and soft. And since I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week, I don’t get any build up. This shampoo rinses very clean, and left my hair feeling smooth instantly! Even though I continue to heat-style it (blow drying and occasional hot curling iron use), the texture seems to be getting softer and smoother each time, and it is getting back the shine I was missing before. I do like that it doesn’t leave a super strong aroma like some of the classic Pantene formulas do, just leaves it smelling fresh and clean. I am going to deduct one star only on account of the fact that I've only used it twice, so I'm not sure how it will do in the long term. But overall so far, I’m very happy with this, and plan to keep using it!
