So while this felt divine on my very dry skin and absorbed impressively fast, I was flaking and itching again within a few hours. The moisturizing effects don't last. To be fair, shu uemura doesn't endorse this product for dry skin, but normal skin with "dry tendencies." What prevented me from rating this product more highly is the company's bogus claims about its ingredients list. This is actually a very basic moisturizer being sold at an unbasic price. Also disappointing is the jar packaging. Although lovely, it destabalizes antixidants.

I have sung the praises of shu uemura's blush and eyeshadows on this site before, but I've been nothing but disappointed with their skin care. Why this Cleansing Beauty Oil is so popular is beyond me. It's not awful, but it's really not all that good. The packaging is nice and the floral smell makes me swoon, but this stuff doesn't clean my face all that well. Because this oil-based, splashing water on your face to rinse it off does nothing. You have to tackle it with a washcloth or other exfoliant. If I decide to go with the flow by not rinsing it off to let my super dry skin drink in all the oils, I still get flaky skin. So fails as a cleanser, and it doesn't have much in the way of moisturizing properties. What is it good for? Makeup removal. It rocks at that.

If you buy anything from the shu uemura line, it should be these shadows. They are available in a stunning array of modern colors in three finishes, all of which are highly pigmented with excellent color payoff (the metallics are especially divine). There's no creasing, fading, or migration. Highly recommend!

This is a brilliantly formulated hand cream priced between drugstore brands and prestige brands. It provides immediate relief for dry skin and the results last. The retro pink packaging is fun, and I dig its soft, clean scent. Sadly, its lack of SPF means I only use it at night. I don't want my hands showing my age any more than I want my face to, so SPF is a must.

First, I believe that the editor's review is outdated, Total Beauty's product picture certainly is. Clinique recently reformulated this product and it's amazing. It doesn't smell AT ALL, and that alone makes it worth the steep cost. But it also works great, as both a moisturizer and a self-tanner. I use it in place of my regular moisturizer when I get out of the shower, and it happens to give me a golden glow! I started to notice a pretty bronze color after three uses.

It's hard not to be impressed by this scrub. Mica particles make it shimmer like diamonds and it feels warm to the touch. After using it, my skin felt fantastic. Curious about the ingredients, I did a little digging and found that it contains silver, which turns your skin blue. Ingesting silver over a period of time will turn your skin blue, and scrubbing this into your skin so the silver particles become trapped in your pores and tiny tears will also turn your skin blue, permanently.

I am so sad that this shampoo made my scalp itch. When I bought it, I was willing to overlook that most of the ingredients are basically salt because it lacked silicone and harsh lathering agents. And it made my fine, dry hair look great. When my scalp started itching horribly, I cut out hair products one a time to find the culprit. Sadly, this was it.

This serum doesn't absorb. Instead, it sits on your skin like a primer. I didn't mind at first because it felt so silky. Two days later, after three uses under moisturizer, my skin was dry, itchy, and peeling and flaking off. (I normally have dry skin, but it was ridiculous how bad it was.) The serum was coating my skin and preventing my moisturizer from penetrating. Even if you don't suffer from dry skin, why bother with a serum that doesn't even absorb?

The shape, density, and softness of the bristles make this brush an excellent option for applying eyeshadow all over your lid, from lash line to eyebrow. I appreciate that it does not kick up a lot of "dust" when I dip it in powder shadow and that it picks up the perfect amount of product. Moreover, it's animal-friendly (the bristles are synthetic) and inexpensive compared to other prestige brand's brush offerings. If you're going to do more precise work on your eye, however, I'd look elsewhere.

The cut of this brush in addition to its dense, soft bristles make it ideally suited to crease work. I have long avoided contouring my eyes because I struggle to apply color to the crease without making a mess of it and having to start my eye look over. This brush fits perfectly into the crease of your eye, so all I have to do is swipe in the direction of my brow bone and it's done! The synthetic (animal-friendly) bristles and relatively low price make this brush an even more attractive application option.
