  • Maybelline New York Volum' Express Falsies Flared Washable

I had to try this mascara due to the hype it received. At first is was wet and messy. The bendy brush wand did not help and was difficult to get used to. After the product dried out some it was terrific. I had it in my monthly favorites. I retired the mascara though. There is still plenty of product left, but I've noticed flaking by the end of the day and it no longer lasts all day because it flakes off. I prefer mascaras that stay consistent through to the end. This one did not. I love the full, long lash look it gives, but there are better mascara's out there that last longer, are less messy to apply, and that can give me the same full effect. It is easy to get all your lashes - even the tiny ones, coated. Overall, I won't repurchase due to the formula crapping out after about a month of everyday use.

  • L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Star Secrets Lipcolour

Ok, First off, I knocked off two stars because the other colors did not appeal to me. I own Kerry's Rosewood. It is a gorgeous color that is not too dark or too bright. It has a golden sheen too it. It is actually a close dupe to tarte's lipsurgence lipluster in Sweet. There isn't much of a smell, and what there is, is not bad. There is not really a taste with these which I love. It is a smooth creamy lipstick with average wear. I find that like most L'Oreal lip colors, they are not drying at all. This one is the my favorite of the bunch. I am not sure I can pull off the other colors, but I might have to pick some up just to try. Overall, I highly recommend these, or at least Kerry's Rosewood.

    Almay Intense i-Color Smoky-i Kit

    So glad they reformulated!

These shadows are much softer and easier to blend than their old formula. The packaging is kind of cute and easily shows you where you would place the shadows. They still have a light problem with their darker shade being a bit too hard, but as I said, they blend much easier than before. I think they have fairly unique color combinations. They are all geared towards eye color, but you can get any trio you want no matter what color eyes you have. I think they still have room for improvement, but these are decent shadows.

Almay Intense I-Color Play Up Powder Shadow

Not great, glad they changed the formula

I like the idea of the almay palettes. These eyeshadows however are not that great. They don't blend well, the darker colors are the worst. They are hard yet highly pigmented making things worse with the lack of blend-ability. They have some interesting color combinations which is neat. They have since reformulated their shadows and while they are softer and easier to blend, they still aren't the best.

  • NYX Cosmetics NYX Xtreme Lip Cream

I got one of these to try. The color was not true to the color on the website. Maybe the color is wrong for me. It applies kind of like a lipgloss as in it has a doefoot applicator. When you apply it it looks very bold and unnatural. You have to kind of blend out the edges with your finger to help get a more natural look, but it still looks strange on the lips. It is definitely not like anything else I have tried. I can't say I like it or that I will buy more.

  • NYX Cosmetics NYX 5-Color Eye Shadow Palette

This was my first nyx palette. The colors are gorgeous and summery and really compliment my blue/green eyes. These are so soft and smooth and creamy! I learned exactly why everyone loves nyx shadows so much. For the price, you really can't beat the quality. The colors blend well, look great and don't transfer from my crease to my lid like some super soft shadow can. They last all day with a primer and stay pretty pigmented throughout. A little goes a long way as they are pretty pigmented. I bought another one of these palettes for my friend and she loves it as well. I highly recommend these and any nyx palette.

  • NYX Cosmetics NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

I finally got myself a nyx shadow pencil. I knew they creased, I knew EVERYONE loves them, and I had to see for myself. The first time I wore it, I used primer, I put it down trying to get a good base color to show through and then I used powdered eyeshadow. It creased horribly. I tried it again using the thinnest amount - causing very little pigment to actually be there, then used powder over top. No creasing, but didn't find that the pencil helped the look any. You cannot apply enough of the product to get a good color base in my opinion. I bought the popular milk one. Maybe I need to put a good white eyeshadow over top of it to get more pigmentation. Then apply color. The pencil is soft and creamy. You have to sharpen it (not a plus in my book). There are better shadow pencils and creams out there that don't crease, offer the same effect and are of a time consuming hassle. I often find over hyped products just don't work for me. They are fairly inexpensive and they have lots of colors. I will give them that.

  • NYX Cosmetics Single Eye Shadow

These eyeshadow are terrific. There are so many colors. They are soft and pigmented. They last a long time with a good primer. You get a lot of product and nyx is often on sale at ulta and cherrycoultrure. I hear that some of the shades can be more chalky, but I haven not run into those. I highly recommend these as well as any nyx eyeshadow palettes.

Save your $1 and get the powder blush

This is one of the worst elf products in my opinion. There are far better cream blushes out there that blend easier, look better and last longer. I would suggest buying the $1 powder blushes (I think some of them are $2 now) or get the $3 version. Skip this one from elf.

  • Maybelline New York Fit Me! Blush

I have one of these blushes. I find it to be natural looking, but not overly pigmented. There isn't really anything special about this blush that would make me want to spend the money on another. It's a decent blush, looks nice, wears ok, but there just isn't anything special about it. Not something I would repurchase. It does have a more matte finish for those who like to steer clear of shine.
